It's not a Backcountry tripod. It's great for what it is, a heavy stout universal setup that works with any rifle. I set one up at camp on the deck and anybody can slap their rifle on it and blast hogs from the deck. The extra weight is a bonus for average people standing and shooting or even...
You got the 23rd by chance? Apparently they hand out tags to everyone, if so you'd be the 5th person on forums that has the same dates as me. I think we should all get together and have a party at this point. Lol
Man that's interesting. My father has two stories about the lady in the white dress from back in the 50's. Both wee hours of the night in the middle of nowhere like yours.
That Hunter's rail, short, bolts right up to the Tikka with the existing stock screws, easy. I used that combo with the Tricer bipod last week on our cow hunt. I have UM Low Tikka rings for a 42mm NF scope and there's plenty of room for the NF so assume it'll be fine for the 42mm Trijicon.
edit...
Very good info on the sights, thank you. EGW makes a pic rail for them I would plan to buy if I go that route and buy the one with iron sights which is the cheapest Accura I can find. Assuming the fits it'll probably be the only muzzleloader in the country wearing a Nightforce NXS. Hey, it's...
My bet is a minor design change and they push the new version hard trying to sell it as better. I have a 97 and almost never wear it but they're definitely super popular and it has it's place no doubt. I may pickup a couple for my son's from the outlet.
I plan to have my shotgun as a backup and depending how I plan to hunt and setup will determine what I carry. I feel naked without a medium range option as some of those areas down there you can see for miles on flat ground in the salt flats. It's also a good excuse to get into the ML world and...
Normally I'd be all over used, but honestly I don't believe I have enough knowledge of them to properly assess a used ML. I may trust a well known forum member but probably not a pawn shop.
I had a boat shop mail me a flyer and with my own boat and my own kids and dog in it trying to sell that model of boat to me. It was pretty shocking to see, they lifted it off the internet forums somewhere I'd posted it. They wouldn't want me as a spokesman after that, but I guess I'm officially...
Those little bubble levels have a screw on both sides and a gap, the reason for those is to calibrate and true the level. I have the same one, if I turn it around backwards it reads differently. I'd adjust it to where it looks good to your eye and roll on, but I just hunt with my rifles I don't...
I like that Big Bite a lot.
I've used a bunch of round stuff, never going back to those as none of them worked to my satisfaction. I've got a big square LEM that does really well so no need to replace it but if I ever did I'll get the Big Bite.
He will make any adapter y'all want, seems like a good dude getting started. We went back and forth a lot in email when he made my m15 and I plan to send him some other projects. I believe he's in Colorado Springs iirc.
Solid tip and I used to do that with the same logic, a second light/lamp/etc that uses the same battery is double protection... spare light and spare battery in one for minimal weight penalty.
Good Lord, hard pass! Thanks for the heads up. A bunch of the Wolf models come with that Durasight but the MR-X's seem to come with rails or irons. I'll definitely avoid anything with the Durasight mount.
