    YETI Cooler Storage Over Winter

Boat has two 75 qt Yetis and whole rig is 12 years old now. Coolers live in the boat on the coast, all I do is remove the drain plug and use the rubber latches to prop the lid open. No smells, they're beat up from use but not from improper storage. I also have a 65qt that lives at home in the...

    hunting buddies drama

Tough spot but sounds like it's likely migrating to the point where you'll have to gravitate to spend more time with one or the other. Nobody wants to share a camp with dudes who don't get along. You may want to have a little conversation with both of them (separately) and explain that it's...

    A special/sad hunt

Congrats on the Bull man. You didn't need to call your dad, I suspect he was right there with you the whole time.

    The REAPER from Unknown Suppressors

I had a brake come loose after using a small amount of Rocksett. Now I smother the threads in it heavily and haven't had any more issues.

    What’s your ATV or UTV?

Updating with a fresh pic from this week, did pretty well and was glad to have it BS my truck when the roads got really sloppy.

    Diesel heater suggestion

Neither, just my AGM camper battery and a 100 watt panel. We used the Jackery and another 100 watt panel for the freezer and all other camp power. I wasn't taking any chances with the heater lol. We ran the gennie twice in 7 days to top off the Jackery when the skies had no sun but I didn't...

    Diesel heater suggestion

Not sure what the toolbox style is but I put a plastic folding table over mine. It snowed a few times, got 3" one night and it did fine. It wasn't waterproof obviously and heater got some snow on it but didn't seem to bother it.

    Diesel heater suggestion

Yup. I can take some pics of the booklet that came with mine if it helps. There's a couple different controller types. For mine it has two buttons and makes no sense. In essence yes if it's in the regular mode you just power it on and it goes. If you press the other button it can go into a...

    Diesel heater suggestion

Yes, it's an either/or and I have mine wired directly to the battery with a 100w solar panel on it for the last week and it's a game changer. I've not seen it drop below 12.4v on cloudy day and usually it's at 12.7v when I check it. I'll never big-tent camp without this thing. It's only been...

    The Nilgai Post

When are you going to be there? Shoot me a PM, we also drew that one and there's only two dates so it's a 50/50 we'll be there at the same time.

    hunting with kids

I think keeping it simple with 223 would be my preference, lots and lots of shooting with a huge variety of factory ammo on the cheap and step up to good hunting ammo for the big hunts.

Ruger 10/22 - Takedown (Stainless) vs Magpul (Stainless) for 9 and 11yr old daughters.

Found these on my phone. Super fun with the little red dot on it. That's an SBX shrouded barrel the suppressor fits inside. It's like an 11" barrel that clears 16" so no tax stamps necessary. There's a flap that opens on the butt stock that holds 3 factory 10rd mags. Wife will be packing this...

Ruger 10/22 - Takedown (Stainless) vs Magpul (Stainless) for 9 and 11yr old daughters.

Get the takedown and then get the Magpul stock for the takedown, it's a fantastic platform for packing and holds magazines in the butt stock. You'll want the pic takedown block to mount a red dot on so it's always consistent with the barrel. No accuracy issues if the optic is mounted on the...

    Titanium suppressor selection

Thanks for the thoughts. Yeah that DA factory DT is heavy too, I replaced mine with a C&S and dropped over an ounce iirc and shorter.

    Appetite and breakfast

MetRx Big100 bar while I'm hiking usually, or I'll eat two lunches, or both. I'm not hungry in the evening either but once I learned to just force feed pastas and carbs my performance darn near doubled after days 2-3 or so. If I don't force feed I'm out of gas the rest of the trip.
