i miss shootin squirrels with my pellet guns. they're tough little bastards. definitely go with a .22 pellet and have a higher MV.
sure shot placement is important, but i really hate squirrels
keep shooting. it's winter. over the next two months, does it change?
i dont like drawing conclusions when i'm shooting and it's stupid cold. all i can reasonably conclude is that i'm cold and not focusing.
my newish 243 with 87 gr hammer absolute hunters has only taken two deer so far, but i feel confident it will kill anything i appropriately point it at. this coming down from 30-06 and 7mag and 308.
but i'm NOT a long range hunter. my woods are thick and i'm quiet. i support smaller calibers...
I enjoyed the write-up on Neil Desai who used a 2" hose from his pool for sprinklers and used his hot tub to mix up a batch of hydrogel to spray down another part of his house. the man had a plan. going to be lonely in the neighborhood though...
i should talk to my insurance company about how...
i have the Hybrid 46M, haven't used it on any pistols though, too lazy. but the option exists. i've put it on .223 ARs and .300BLK ARs and 6.5CM AR10, and 243/308 hunting rifles. It does what I need it to do....
that said, swapping out parts to adapt it to the next thing you wanna...
always on an as-needed basis.
wife came out to visit me when i was working in hawaii. we spend a day being tourists driving all over the island. we keep seeing this dude hitching on the side of the road. scraggly beard. tall, frizzy hair. saw him easily five times. we'd stop and go stare at...
i remember september and october being santa ana months. nothing worse than going back to school in september and then finally the weather gets nice and hot and youre stuck sitting at a desk. and then halloween you'd see fire in the hills. nice and stuffy shuffling around in the costume mom...
if you take the 1 north from SF in july you'll be stuck behind an even larger minivan or camper going slower than you want to go and you won't be able to pass. but you'll be able to enjoy the scenery, or at least your passengers will. things will "improve" once you hit the 101
that said, if you...
personally i'd opt for the 357 so i could also feed a 357 revolver. i loved my 45-70, it made big holes in things, but it wasn't tthhaattt much fun to shoot. well, it was fun, for the first five shots at the range. a threaded 357 lever gun would make for stupid fun w 38 spl ammo and a...
when i retired my savage 110 in 30-06 for a tikka T3 in 7 mag, I thought the tikka felt like less recoil. Not that it has less recoil obviously, but the ergonomics of the stock worked better at my shoulder.
that said, i dont think you'll find too much difference between 308 and 65CM...
if i didn't reload i'd just buy a tikka 243 w 1:8 twist and buy any of the dozen(s) of lead-free options and not look back
i do reload....so I bought a 1:8 tikka 243 and reload hammers, because ...well no good reason. just wanted to see if i could fling light copper bullets at fast speeds.
any...
another vote(s) for a) because it helps save what's left of my hearing and b) when hunting with a suppressor animals spook less and c) they're rad and i wanna look kool
case in point, dozen lopes coming towards my buddy and i. i take three suppressed shots to get my doe on the ground (don't...
my employer went in on an estate sale, local pawn shop got all the guns, we got all the ammo and accessories. most has gone away by now, should have taken more pics. if you're gonna hoard, guns and ammo are the way to go!
i went with lapua brass for loading up good hunting ammo. when my pops finishes shooting up the sellier & bellot for practice, i'll reload that for plinking. don't recall having a hard time finding load data but it's been a bit...
nice work @sandhillhunter! i did my first (and last, screw that noise) full marathon in june. looking forward to 2025 when i don't run so many races.
another 10 miles and i'll hit 1200 for the year. 200 hours. i could have just taken a second job at mcdonalds and made $3000 instead of having...
i remember eating lunch in the 90s in a eucalyptus grove where i worked. when the monarchs came through the trees would be covered in butterflies. by the time i quit in 2000, not so much.
but fock eucalyptus trees. they suck.
depends on how many people you(r parents) are going to invite
ours was a "big" wedding...150+ people and it was only tolerable bc other than inviting all their old friends our parents didn't have a say in anything
and we were able to do it for dirt cheap in 2005
now if we hadn't been able to...
