    One hike up cline butte over here but nothing overnight yet. Gonna be a couple weeks before I can get out.

    this is 5 days of gear including food, water, tripod and spotter. The longhunter lid and wings are about half full at the most and the camp bag is just over half full. Tons of room left in this thing. weighs about 40lbs and carries like a dream!

    Keeps the meat in the same spot but moves the rest of the gear away from your back. There's the logic.

    I am not a meat shelf fan. It moves the load away from your back which increases the leverage if the load pulling you backwards. In my opinion it's much more comfertable to put the meat in the main bag to keep it close to your back.

    Figuring out how to load it to be balanced will be a chore. Between my spotter, bladder, tripod and day hunt gear. I'm thinking a hanging bladder holder to center the 120oz of water will help.

    Rei XT 85 served me well. But I will say that all the money I spent on packs added up to more than my kifaru. May be worth putting a couple hundred more and bite the bullet.. Buy once , cry once.

    Ya tell me about it. I've had 2 blacks ck, 2 badlands and an REI XT 85. Add it up and there is the kifaru and then some.

    I can't explain how stoked I am!! My first high end pack ships today! Foliage duplex nomad with camp bag, longhunter lid, grab it and belt pouches. I am chomping at the bit to load that thing up and get gone!!

    I run OR flex tech during the summer but spring scouting and fall hunts I run the taller for tex OR gaiters.
