No, I'm pretty well fed up with folks like you that come in and hijack a thread you didn't start with "common knowledge" that turns out is just a bunch of the same nonsense that a lot of you guys believe... And is clearly refuted by actually smart people, which is why I shared that video...
Have you looked at what people are pulling out of Outfitter ammo lately? Double base ball powders. That's what Hornady is using... Yes probably a blend, but still a ball powder.
Wrong. Listen to the experts in the podcast. Their data, both theoretical and actual, proved one another. Guys like you that come in here and regurgitate what you've seen on another thread about RL 26 and 180 ELDM can just stop.
This isn't your thread. You are off topic. And so arrogant that...
Actually I asked for thoughts on the powder analysis, not random suggestions on powders and different bullets... Particularly not with every other person telling me RL26.
And the funny thing is I found confirmation of what I thought from Hornady and a 40 year professional ballistician...which...
I have yet to see that phenomenon regularly...and I have never seen RL26 available, yet everyone seems to think they're the smartest guy in the room by continuing to recommend it.
What I have seen regularly is H1000, 4831sc, and Retumbo priced over $60/lb plus hazmat and shipping... Bringing...
Only problem is powder availability. I've already decided I'm not going to pay the hazmat/shipping costs, so I'm working with what's available locally. I'm also not worried about temp stability because I'll do the load development in the spring and hunt in the fall, and temps will be pretty...
So, I just heard Jeff Siewart (renowned ballistician) say exactly what I thought... Whenever he does load development, he chooses the powders with the lowest speed to weight variation, and the Hornady guys agreed with him. Episode link below.
Tikka actions are the same length gents... The bolt stop switches out to change it from short to long and vice versa. The appropriate question is the mag size.
For you guys still watching... Locally available is magpro, ramshot hunter, and ramshot magnum. Thoughts on which of these three would be best for 160cx?
