    Best stove/pot combo

As StopMakingSense showed the Soto WM goes nicely with the Evernew Small Pasta Pot (750ml) and that is a darling of a pot combo with it. Evernews are better quality than the Toaks. I also like the Soto Windmaster in a wide 900ML , don’t overlook that combo! Seriously consider the Soto 4 Flex...

    Best stove/pot combo

The BRS is considered an ultra minimalist lightweight summer backpacking stove as far as canister stoves are ranked by the boys and girls over at Backpackinglight and has been for years. It works , but has its shortcomings. Which once again can be reversed over there. I like mine in the summer...

    Hanwag Alaska GTX Questions

Bowrunner81, I normally wear an 11 running shoe. I believe with these boots the literature you do a goofey down size maybe . Lathrop & Sons had me go up a half size ( off what would be my running shoe for example) to an 11.5 ( US) and then used their foot bed. This is not with their custom...

Saddle set up- new rope diameter?

Been using 8mm Resc Tech which I hang from and reppel with via a Madrock. I just switched it end over end now after 4 years of use and still good to go. Used the 8mm Resc Tech for a tether and also Oplux with a Ropeman for years in a normal tether format prior to rappelling . All worked great.

    Hanwag Alaska GTX Questions

I agree, my toe box’s have not loosed up, perhaps the interior leather, but the form stays much like a steel toe , which in my mind for that kind of boot is a good thing. Yes, the appropriate cleaning, conditioners, and waxing are a must and these boots will be with you. Put them on heat ...

    Game bag question

I tried the new Kuiu boned out meat bags this season and they worked well for me. I like they zip top duffel bag design and shape. It held the meat in a good packable shape and it didn’t pool or sag, brick like.

    Best hunting knife

I have several very nice custom fixed blade knives, buck fixed , the Kuiu Kestrel ultralight, etc. I now carry Outdoor Edge… It’s sharp, if not I can make it sharp in a quick second, it works well, and if I leave it in the mountains by accident i won’t have a coronary.
