Anyone hunt the areas between the Bighorns and Yellowstone last few years?

73 would my pick then, it is a good sized unit with plenty of public land. Go early and scout for at least a couple of days. Get to know the unit a little bit and pick out a nice buck and a couple of back ups. My strategy was to start on the west side of the unit and work my way east. I killed...

Anyone hunt the areas between the Bighorns and Yellowstone last few years?

I have hunted the southeast end of the Bighorn range, units 20, 21 and 73, of those 73 was easily the best area, 20 was the least crowded with fewest animals seen. How many points do you have?

    Planning My First Antelope Hunt

I have done several DIY pronghorn hunts in Wyoming, the units I liked to hunt used to have left over tags, now they are taking 7+ points to draw. My next pronghorn hunt will be with an outfitter. To me, decent optics are a requirement, with tags so hard to get now I look over a lot of bucks...

I had a bruiser on my trail camera a few years ago and we had one visit our deer camp and bang around one night. They are not common though, I have seen a few over the years but I didn't even apply for the tag this year.

Dream build - Custom Kimber 6x45

My 6x45 is an XP100 pistol, I was just shooting it today. I have a slow twist barrel so the heaviest bullet I have had any luck with so far is the Sierra 80 grain Blitz hopefully I get to try it on a deer next weekend.

A little late to the party here but I live in the little hamlet of Viburnum kind of between St. Louis and Springfield . I would be interested in getting together possibly.

The future of NR hunting in Wyoming

I'm sitting on 9 elk points in Wyoming, not sure what I'm going to do at this point. I have 3 antelope points but my honey hole was ruined by the GPS chip, not a lot of public access but before the hunting gps maps (now OnX hunt) came out I was able to draw it as a 3rd. choice now it takes 8 or...

Cabela's new price matching effort seems like an attempt to stay relevant-especially for club card holders..

I cancelled my club card the other day, actually they cancelled it for me because I hadn't used it in 2 years. I think I had like $23.00 in points, no offer of a gift card. I figured the bass pro acquisition would ruin a fine company and IMHO it did exactly that.

    Keep or sell guns?

I have a couple of guns that are family heirlooms and will be passed to my kids or grandkids the rest are not sacred to me, I'll get something and shoot it for a while then move it out and get something else. Lately I've been trying to consolidate things and get everything into one safe, it's...

    Out of retirement

I retired from the Navy in '96 and went to work full time a week later . I am still working full time as a machinist/toolmaker and also have a part time gig as a gunsmith. I plan to retire at the end of next year at 65. The wife and I like to travel and I want to do a little more of that while...

    New guy from Missouri

Hey all, Thanks for having me! I was born and raised in Missouri, have been an avid hunter all my life. I started tagging along with my dad at age 4 and carrying a gun just a few years later. I have successfully hunted elk and mule deer in Colorado and have made several trips to Wyoming after...
