Just got my Magview B1 to get my Zulu6's (16x42) ready for digiscoping for some summer scouting trips. I'm curious what everyone else has been gravitating towards on the Zulu6's?

My initial thoughts on the Magview:

Pro:
-The phone backing plate is super low and minimally intrusive for normal day to day phone use (does eliminate wireless charging if you do that)
-the mag plate is also compatible with my magnetic phone holder in my truck, which was the big thing that pushed me towards magview.
-The B1 adapter seems to hold on to my eyepiece pretty well without the set screw, which is good because...

Cons:
-...the eye relief is wrecked with the B1 installed. I wear glasses which makes it completely unusable. if i take my glasses off it's usable, but still not ideal. this leads me to just using it with the set screw not installed so that i can pop the B1 on and off as i need to digiscope. My thought is that with binos, digiscoping will be an afterthought only if i see something but 99% of my time with these will be spent eyes to glass. installing and removing the adapter is annoying, but not the end of the world.
-the magnets aren't as strong as i'd hoped. my phone will tend to rotate down and not hold exactly horizontal, which works out because i need the rotation any way to get the camera lined up, but still, it can be fiddly.

I'll report back once i get it out in the field, a couple minor annoyances but like i mentioned, digiscoping on the binos will be a vast minority of the time so I think this will work just fine and i'm not really willing to pay $200 for an Ollin setup knowing that it'll likely have similar eye relief issues.

Plus with the zulus, i can throw image stabilization on and digiscope freehand, which I'm super excited about.

This doesn’t relate to your question but how do you like the zulu6s? Have you compared them in person to the 12x? I am stuck on 12x vs 16x

I love them. Single best piece of hunting equipment I've ever bought.

What's your hesitation on going for the 16s? Bino size or too much magnification?

For my style of hunting and target animal (not worried about counting inches), the 16s have enabled me to ditch the spotter and tripod and I get by pretty well with only binos. If you want to count tine length at a mile you probably still need a spotter but im happy being able to differentiate a raghorn and a 6x6, and thats good enough.

Edit, I have not directly looked at 12s vs 16s though. But definitely dont regret the 16s

Yeah I was worried about the magnification being too much but I actually looked it up. The 12s and 16s have the same field of view so technically a person would be able to see the same amount just more magnified with the 16s

Yeah, id say go for the 16s, you won't regret it. Sportsmans is running a sale on them right now too

I've got the 16s and wish I had the 12s. I'm not glassing miles out and need less magnification for archery hunting in timber. I ordered the Epoch Mountain Mag. Should be in this week. I'm hoping it works well.
