Hey everybody, I just recently won a set of Sig Sauer Zulu6 16x42’s in a western hunting journal giveaway. I have only gotten to use them for 1 day, muzzleloader mule deer hunting and have so far loved them. The image stabilization tech is incredible, and the glass quality for a $1000 set of binoculars is pretty good. Just figured I’d share my experience so far and see if anybody has anything I should know about these Binos.

One question I’ve had is the battery life; I know sig advertises 40 hours of battery life, but I’m curious what people have actually experienced in the field with varying temperatures and such.

Any issues anybody has had?

Thanks.

I have the 16x42 for almost a year now. I changed the battery once and I never remember to turn them off so its always auto off. I like that is just an aa battery not the rf cr2 or whatever.

I have the 14x50's and love them so far. About to put them to some serious use on a mule deer hunt. Took them to the range the other day and its a world of difference being able to call shots without a tripod.

I’ve had no problems using them for a week without killing a battery. BUT, I always bring a spare and change the battery at the end of a week of solid use rather than waiting for it to die.

I changed my battery at the beginning of September and it's still going strong after several weekends of hunting. I'm gonna run it til it dies this fall and see how many days i get out of it but for the extra weight, it's absolutely worth tossing a spare AA in your pack. Only way i wouldn't is if it's a weekend hunt and I JUST changed the batteries, not worth losing the stabilization.
