Zoo's

Cincinnati if all of Ohio is a consideration on zoos.

Grab a beer and burrito at The Comet Bar and catch some great bluegrass with The All Stars if you're in Cincinnati on a Sunday night.

They all pretty much suck. 2 years ago I was in San Diego, I was super excited to go to the zoo there because it’s supposed to be awesome. It was a major letdown, there were some cool snow leopards but their polar bears looked like shit and I didn’t see anything unusual. Just capabaras and a few elephants.

Columbus ......and like someone above said if you are ever around Omaha, NE check out the Henry Doorly Zoo best zoo we've ever been to.

Where you at?
Akron my hometown has a cool little zoo. And a bonus is it’s in the ghetto/zoo :D

Columbus is nice, big though.

If you’re making a trip you really need to check out the wilds in southern Ohio.
It’s an open top safari type thing. And they do up close with the animals as well. (More money). It’s legit and affiliated with Columbus zoo ie, the late Jack Hanna
It’s old strip mine land that was reclaimed

Ditto, sounds like it's out of your range but Henry Doorly Zoo is awesome. Stopped to check it out on a trip out west and wasn't disappointed

Columbus and toledo are two of the best in the country. Cleveland is ok, but not worth a special trip. We're currently doing the foundation work for the new primate exhibit in Cleveland. They're putting some money into it, but unfortunately the work means a lot of what they have to offer is currently closed until work finishes.

Was at the Chicago zoo last week…..a piece of glass separating my son and a silver back was humbling.

Zoos I’ve been to, Seattle (pretty good), Denver (overdone not worth the bs parking), Cheyenne mtn, (really nice and focused on North America exhibits,) Toledo (I was six, don’t remember anything). The one in Omaha was impressive! Easy to walk around, a few indoor air conditioning places to beat the heat, large and expansive, one of those places where you can tell the staff is passionate about it not just doing a job.

The wild animal park is the far better experience when compared with the regular zoo in San Diego. But I agree that zoos are generally a letdown if you are more than about ten years old.
