So I have a chance to get a pretty much new maven rs 1.2 for $850. Or should I order a s2h scope and wait? Normally I would just wait but the maven deal is almost too good to pass up. What are your guy’s thoughts?

If it’s a Mil scope you could get it and try it and sell it for little to no loss if you hate it.

The Mavin (if mil) is a pretty good scope, good reticle, dials correctly, holds zero, decent glass. I do think the ZT S2H will be a better hunting scope, but that doesn't make the Mavin bad.

With that in mind, there may be a lot of used Mavin 1.2's hitting the market about the time the S2H scope comes out. Reselling might be tougher then. ...but, it's never a bad thing to have an extra reliable all around scope. If you need one now, and it's not going to put you in a financial bind so you can't pick up the S2H, get it.

One more update after a bit more use. You can slip turrets without needing any tools. Just an empty case works perfect to loosen the screw on both elevation and windage turrets. Very clever and simple.

I'm sure they put in their own order for scopes too. They still have to wait the same 6 months for LOW to manufacturer them as we do. ZT just isn't offering pre-order like S2H is. Currently there are only three of the magical scopes in existence. First production releases will hopefully be done in the September/October range. Be patient like the rest of us have to be.

I would say it’s a reasonable expectation. Every step will add time. Transit from customs to S2H. Intake and processing. Testing. Packaging. Shipping to customers. If you’re first in line, you’ll get it sooner. If you’re 499th in line, not as soon.

Arriving on the continent vs getting it in our hands. They said every scope will be tested and packaged before shipping. I wish it was ready now but I'm a realist and see September/October as a respectable time frame.

Just reserved mine for the 4th drop.

Went with the THLR reticle so I can compare it directly with the NF F1 reticle and the Maven SHR-MIL reticles, which I like.

I got the bumpers as well. I have a feeling I will like them, which is also going to end up with me spending even more money.

I would temper expectations a bit. I ordered two in the first drop. If I have them by November I’ll be happy. Would have loved to have one for a September hunt but I set those chances at 0%.
