ZeroTech TRACE ADV 3-18×44 FFP Shoot2Hunt

I've never looked through a ZCO, but my god their glass must be rough to not be able to tell a difference between that and a SWFA. I always thought they were high regarded.
If you're shooting in very low light, clarity isn't great in even top end scopes. So as Form says, that's not the difference maker. That's true. The reticle makes a world of difference in being able to quickly and accurately aim on target. That's why the THLR "caught my eye" immediately, the first time I saw it.

But I still don't like bad glass. Luckily, being a bowhunter, most of my rifle shooting is at the range in bright light. Good glass is nice......LOL.

As a recent convert to mils, and a die hard moa user, I can confirm mils and quick drop are awesome. I am very happy with the Swfa 3-9, but dang you @Q_Sertorius, I have a Zerotech ordered for December. I am sure the new reticle is nice, but I had to go with the regular mil reticle for consistency sake. If I ever find the time and money, I would love to attend a S2H class to learn what I don’t know. Being as I only have 3 archery tags in different states this fall, it will be next years problem.

at 6x I cant tell the difference in clarity between my swfa and my maven rs1.2. I am a glass snob too. Run nl 10x and a kowa 774 for glassing.

at 6x clarity is tough to judge. Eyebox comfort, relief, fov, color, etc are more obvious things that stand out at that magnification.

So I have a chance to get a pretty much new maven rs 1.2 for $850. Or should I order a s2h scope and wait? Normally I would just wait but the maven deal is almost too good to pass up. What are your guy’s thoughts?

If you don't have a hunt that needs the scope, I'd pass. I've got a couple of rifles that need scopes, that are waiting for the September release of the first round of orders I've got 2 pre-orders in for. And I'm 100% good happy to wait. From everything I'm seeing and hearing, the S2H scopes are just in a different category of capability and quality than the Mavens, and offloading an interrim scope after the S2H's start hitting the market would be an unnecessary hassle. If I needed the scope now though, that Maven price you quoted is a great deal.

Hold out for the S2H scope. It’s only $150 more, and seems like it’ll be quite better glass & features.

I’m fortunate to be hanging out with the S2H crew for a long weekend and doing some shooting at the ranch as they prep for the final summer course next week. Hoping to get a lot of time with the new S2H scope over the next few days.

I used it a bit from 100-400 yards yesterday afternoon and just like others, I can say it’s the best scope I’ve used. The simplified THLR reticle is truly excellent. Use the post for point and shoot up close or go to 6x or 9x and have the entire mil reticle at your disposable.

The form factor of the scope is what I would call robust yet svelte. It’s only slightly bigger than my SWFA 3-9 or 6x and yet it feels to be built like a tank. I also love that every dial/turret/ring on it can be turned with ease without feeling loose (Issues I have with power ring on my SWFA 3-9 and the turret on my Maven RS1.2). The capped windage is also a huge improvement over the SWFA’s.

I’ll post a few more thoughts at the end of the weekend but I can say I’ll be selling my Maven RS1.2 to fund another S2H scope as soon as I get home. Feel free to PM me if you may want to buy it, though I’ll tell you you’d be better off waiting for the S2H scope…

I stand corrected, the new S2H scope is somehow both smaller and yet feels more robust than the SWFA 3-9x. Turrets all protrude less as well. Even more noticeable compared to the 6X. Such a great all around package.

SWFA 6X on the left. S2H in the middle. SWFA 3-9 on the right.

Good to see the middle one hasn’t been rezeroed since I shot it.

How does it size up to a NXS 2.5-10x42?
