This is a field evaluation of the ZT Trace 3-18x50mm FFP scope. This scope was sent to Ryan Avery for an evaluation by ZeroTech.


The scope: 27.9oz. It is a Chinese manufactured scope.



Turrets:

Elevation turret is exposed with a zero stop, and revolution indicators. Windage is capped, not revolution indicated.

Reticle: Is a common .5 mil per hash mark reticle with center dot and a faint “tree”. The 4x bold outer posts are 7 mils from center.

Shame to see it fail so bad, I’ve got one so now will be doing a bit more testing, I don’t have the greatest fundamentals or the best setup, shooting off a Harris and a small rear bag prone. I’ll work on making at more robust front rest and test it. Plan this year is a fundamentals course.

Saw that Unknown Munitions / Shoot2Hunt came out with a version of this offering the THLR reticle, low profile elevation turret, and push button illumination. Anyone know if they also made any mechanical changes to the design for durability?
