Been a few months since the last update... any others care to chime in or those who have been using it care to give more updates?

anyone looking to get the light version with clips as oppose to the zipper version?

I’ve used one for the last year. 10° light quilt and sheet. Somewhere around 70-80 nights, and down to -12° measured. Best sleeping system I’ve used.

Awesome!

what pad/s R value do you run?
What size quilt do you run for your size?

i hear you always go bigger (zen recommends it as well) My fear is if I go with the long quilt and I am only 6’ it leaves room and unfilled space that can cause cold spots. I experience this with big Agnes bags where I need the shoulder room of a long/wide type bag but it leaves open space that always seems to get cold when I toss and turn around.

Bunch of different pads, but prefer the Exped Downmat UL winter. R values of 6+. I’m 5’9” and 190lbs with relatively low Bf and am using an XL Zenbivy and wouldn’t go smaller, though Large would work. The way the ZB works you easily and naturally tuck the excess quilt around you. It’s money.

Here’s the secret (apparently)- when you go to bed and it’s cold, boil a Nalgene bottle full of water and put it in the foot box of the bag/quilt.

awesome! Thanks for the feedback.

Having used the light model with the clips- would you consider the bivy bed with the zipper and closed food box?

do you prefer to clip it closed in the footbox or clip it to make a rectangle?

The zipper version would be fine but it is increased weight for no real benefit to me.

Most of my use is in winter, to deep winter conditions. For that I clip the foot box closed. With them there is plenty of foot room though; I usually stuff my puffys I’m the bottom.

I have the light 25 degree quilt and sheet. I used it at the end of June for a week in Chicago Basin. Temps got below 40 a couple of nights, maybe even mid 30s, and I was comfortable. I did put my puffy inside for a little extra warmth one night. This was my first trip with it and I was very comfortable with the setup, much better than a mummy bag. The clips were easy to use. I am happy with my purchase.

Do you have to air down the exped at all or does the zenbivy have enough leeway with it to fit the mat? Zenbivy says the sheet will fit a 3” pad and exped says the downmat ul winter is a 3.5” thick pad
