Anyone use a Zenbivy system for their kids?

Kids are getting old enough to start backpacking with them. I’ve looked at the kids sleeping bags and pads but seems like a lot of money for something they’re going to outgrown for a good setup.

Looking at the Zenbivy core, would be about 4# for entire sleep system and plenty warm for summer, early fall camping. The ability to have it clip into the sheet seems like a plus so stays on the kids at night. Obviously it’s too long so anyone have creative way to fold and shorten like I’ve read some guys do with bigger sleeping bags to conserve heat? Mainly going to be summer use to start so heat isn’t a huge concern.

No experience with kids but you could probably roll the end into itself to be the right length. I’ll try it tonight when I get home to see if I’m thinking about it correctly.
Any luck with seeing how it’d roll into itself?

Yeah sorry, I got distracted last night. It should work out ok and allow them to grow with it.

Depending on your kids heights I think they’d be able to tuck into those folded footboxes without much of an issue

Wow this is fantastic, thank you for the detailed response!

That was my hope that it could be a system they grow into and not buy multiple bags along the way.

I got small adult down quilts. Should fit them for many years and is flexible while also tying to the pad helping keep them on it.

About 5 is when I started giving them their own pad and quit, before that I used a wide pad and snuggled with one under my quilt. Not the greatest way to get sleep for me though.
