I bought the scope new 2 years ago. I have used it, as evidenced by the small cosmetic blemishes on the eyepiece and the very minimal coating blemishes on the objective lens. The zoom works well but there is a tactile grind in the zoom ring. Almost like there is a grain of sand in the ring. It in no way affects the optical quality or zoom ability of the scope and it’s still smooth, you can just feel it. I just want to be totally transparent with what you would be getting.
Optically it is still excellent, it has served me well. I am just going in a new direction with my setup.
There is loop Velcro on the lens caps and hook Velcro on the scope body to retain the caps and keep them from flapping in the breeze. I can remove the Velcro and clean off the gunk or leave it on if you’d like.
