Hello, any opinions on the ZEISS Conquest HD 10x42 Binoculars and how they stack up, particluarly against Razor HDs?

I really would like the Cabelas Euro HD/Meostars more than both of them, I just feel like (even on sale) they are a little more than I want to spend, and it seems the Zeiss's at least can be had for less. And Zeiss and Vortex from what I can tell have better warranties. Vortex worry me in that I've read multiple reviews stating there was a noticeable glare in certain conditions.

Anyways, does anyone have firsthand experience with the Zeiss?

I have the conquest HD 10x42s and LOVE them. No first hand with the Razors, but easily beat out the Vipers. I compared with the Euro HDs, and I would say the Euro's were a hair better, but I liked the ergos/weight on the conquests more, so in the end I went with the Zeiss.
Good warranty, very clear. They deal with glare very well in my opinion. CA is pretty good, but can be sensitive to your eye being centered in the lens - ie if your eyes are low or high fringing is more visible - and I only notice this on a tripod where it is dead still. When eyes are centered, it is great. Low light is good - good enough that legal hours are just fine for seeing animals.

Lot of people here like em and most agree that they are 90-95% of the swaros etc... I think one of the best sub 1k binos on the market. Euro's HD are awesome as well - play with them side by side.

I had both Razors and Conquests. No comparison in my limited time owning them both. The Conquests were better across the board.

The Zeiss Conquest series is probably the best bang-for-the-buck bino on the market, in that price bracket a great optic that will serve you well.

I have compared the conquest HD and Euro HD side by side in 15x56, but I'd imagine it's valid for the 10x as well. I though the Euros were just a bit better. a little sharper and the range of focus better. the conquests were very picky on the focus. However, they are still very very good.

Great info thanks guys. If the Cabelas had a 5 year no fault like the Zeiss I think I'd get those today, I have demo-ed them. I will try to try them both side by side. It's pretty reasonable to think I can pick up the Zeiss for $900 on a sale isn't it?

I think you'll be very happy with the Zeiss performance, good eye relief/low light/exit pupil...new demos are always around at lower prices with full warranty also.

Another vote for red hawk rifles for demo zeiss. I got a sweet deal on a set of 15x56.

To the OP, Meopta/Cabelas Euro are great, the zeiss are awesome as well and I don't think i have ever heard anyone rank the razor over either of them

I've also been pleased with red hawk ordered from them a couple times

I picked up a pair of these this summer and they are now my main hunting bino. I'm very pleased. The ergonomics are really good, and they are very well-built and sturdy. The optics are IMO as good as any in their price range. No experience with the Razors, but I've compared the Conquest HD side-by-side with two different pairs of older Swaros and I could not tell the difference. I'm sure the top-of-the-line alphas are better, but I don't feel the need to upgrade. Without a doubt these are among the very very best in their price range.

I went to Cabelas and spent quite a bit of time outside at dusk with three binos. I looked at three 10x42 binos (Vortex Razors, Cabelas Euro HD's and the Zeiss Conquest HD's)

It was really close between the Cabelas HD and the Zeiss HD.

It took another couple sessions of going back and forth to try to separate them. There were a few things that stood out to my eyes. The Zeiss had a more natural color and were just a bit brighter and marginally clearer right at dusk. The ergonomics of the Conquest for me worked much better in my hands.

The Cabela Euro HD's had a bit of a warmer tint almost yellowish that made things look a bit unnatural compared to the Zeiss Conquests.
I did not care for the wider ergonomics of the Euro Hd's as they were bulkier. The only thing is the Conquests have a narrow focus band but once you get it dialed in the view is awesome.

I've been really impressed with these binos. Everyone who's looked through them agree.
