Poor mans not because of inferior glass, rather discounted for issues with condition...
These are a Rokslide catch-and-release to satisfy my curiosity about the HT’s, purchased since they were the cheapest one will ever find these selling for.
These are positively my second favorite model binos I’ve ever handled right behind the Swarovski 12x42 NL Pure.
They are so remarkably comparable to the 12x Pures, comparing side-by-side, makes you you just want to spend a whole afternoon picking apart a mountainside with them. Super bright, these are the highest light transmission 10x42 ever made at over 95% transmission.
If this bino were in mint condition, it would be worth every bit of $2k to me based on the quality of the picture and viewing experience. Sadly this model has some flaws:
1) light cleaning scratches on all 4 lenses
2) cosmetic wear on body/bridge
3) small black marks in picture presumably coming from right ocular (last pic, more description there)
I would wager that the Warranty is Unregistered, based on the sealed-in-package accessory owners manual/papers..but can’t 100% confirm. Issues 1 & 2 above wouldn’t be covered by warranty, but good possibility #3 would be.
Asking price: what I will have into them TYD— $1250 F&F or add 3% (just a fraction of the original retail $2700 +tax).
If these don’t sell here in the next couple weeks, I may just ship these off the Zeiss myself. They are very useable without factory service, but I tend to be rather anal about my optics.
Also if anyone is interested in buying my nearly-factory-new 12x NL Pures instead, I’ll keep these....that’s how good they are, but just too similar to the Pures to keep both.
Marks on body bridge
Light cleaning scratches
Light cleaning scratches
Little dark marks show up isolating right hand binocular barrel, noticeable in picture of looking at a big plain wall.
