My daughters turning 13 and ever since she’s been 6 she’s wanted me to take her on a horseback elk hunt. I’m looking for a rifle youth hunt or a hunt where I’d pay full price and hers on a discount. I contacted a few outfitters in New Mexico that sound really good for a youth only rut hunt but it’s a 20-25% draw odds which are good odds but it’s still a draw. I’m looking for next year or until she’s no longer considered a youth in the western states.

I would have suggested one of the youth encouragement hunts in New Mexico except they changed the rules this year and no longer allow nonresident youth to participate.

I talked to the outfitter last night and he didn’t mention this.

I apply my son in several states. The only state that offers a true youth bull hunt is NM. Others basically offer discounted prices on the tags/licenses but u r in the adult pool. NM youth bull draw odds are worse then the adult hunts. But they r premium hunts
