Hello there,
if you have worn Schnee's Western Packer boots I would be very interested in hearing about your experiences with them and your option after putting some miles on them. I'm looking into these as my primary boot in a two boot setup to wear while packing and assisting a guide in central Idaho. Any actual real world information would be great to hear, especially about how far you can push these and what their limitations are.
More specifically:
What are they like as riding boots?
I.e. how well do they go in and out of stirrups, do they sit well in stirrups, does the height effect comfort of your calf/lower leg, how's the heel, ect. ... Basically, what is it like to spend several hours a day in the saddle while wearing these boots?
Also, how are they as all around hiking boots?
I.e. Can I wear one pair of boots all day? Would or do you use them for gaining elevation (1000+ ft)? what are there limitations before putting them into your pack and switching to dedicated climbers (like granite IIs)? Would you climb a mountain in these, or just a hill? Ect...
Any and all experiences you've had with these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
