Your best (cheap?) organization tips and tricks

These are pretty handy to have in the hunting/reloading room.

Shelving is nice provided you don't weight it down a ton, or it'll buckle as noted.

I have a few of the three drawer plastic storage "bins" where I keep brass and some other odds/ends. Too much weight and they will buckle as well.

IME those eventually buckle under weight and stress.

Wire foodservice shelving is a phenomenal deal. Five shelf 18" x 48" versions at Costco. Bigger and smaller versions generally cost more per square foot. Huge assortment of options at a commercial restaurant supply, still compatible with the generic stuff.

Hmm, I have a couple loaded to the hilt with all kinds of gear and they're fine. The metal ones are better though, I forgot I have those too in the canning closet.

Either way, shelves are nice. lol.

Definitely not saying they suck haha. I just tend to keep the really heavy stuff on the bottom. I went with metal ones when we moved and it’s been a bit more sturdy.

What are your scales sitting on? Is there a purpose for them being elevated?

they are granite surface plates, can be had for cheap on grizzly. i put rubber feet on the bottom too, helps the scales stay flat and stable.

that pic was from summer of 2022 and nothing was really set up at that point yet, so its not quite that clean looking anymore, but the husky toolbox is amazing for all the little things and helping manage the clutter.

Where did you find/buy the legs to your butcher block countertops? Those look substantially well built compared to what I'm finding locally. I need to get me a set like yours.

they are just premade 8' gladiator tables from home depot, a little pricey but they are good quality tables. I put steel L brackets on the back drilled into the cinderblock wall. very solid

I use a pegboard also behind the bench.
I have some small cabinets above the bench that i keep Primers, bullets, powder, dies etc in.

I have one of these. Swapped the top out for a 1.25 piece of computer desk.
I use the bottom shelf to stack sportsman's storage bins for powders and tool.
The 2 drawers are for dies and frequently use small items.
Left side you can mount a Vise and the right side can be use with a hornady press.
Pretty convenience because everything is within reach and especially if you dont have a ton of space.

I have about 10 of these thinner Dewalt organizers that I use to store my bullets and primers. We just moved and I'm working on building my reloading bench but my idea so far is a base cabinet below the press with pull out drawers without faces and these sitting on the drawer "bottom". I think it'll help keep everything organized and be easy to access each organizer. Our last house I just kept them in a large drawer with the handles facing upwards and that worked pretty well.

I got this little plastic bin thing on Amazon for like $32. It came with drawers but my die boxes slide into those spots perfectly. I've since labeled all the bins with stuff, comparators, chamfers, no-go's, etc... Seems to be pretty useful so far. I use the big trays I pulled out for bullet caddies or whatever, actually kind of a nice size for a bench tray.

I have tupperware or glad tubs everywhere with brass in them. Typically put notes inside the tub so I know what their "status" is. Lately, I've been considering putting one of these on the wall: https://a.co/d/05N7j3pO and using it or pegboard with those type of containers. Haven't pulled the trigger on either yet...anyone using these?
