yes sir, private land.
update: a combination of the weather and i believe pressure from other local private lands put these bears nocturnal. All the bears were consistent day light and then the day i started hunting every bait the bears went to dark. Now, I did sit the wrong bait saturday as my other one did get hit in the day light. Overall a good time and will be back at it in a couple weeks. Plenty of bears in the area and a few brutes

Never hunted over in the Bergland unit . I have always hunted the Gwinn or Baraga units .

So never ended up making it back up there to kill anything. They continue to hit the baits on and off however between work and kids no time. Pretty much a wasted tag for the last 12 years. Sucks but that's life. Shot a few bears in Canada so will probably do that one day again. pretty disappointing though
