Gonna order a UL Duplex frame soon and I'm wondering what governs the choice of frame length. I'm sure they'll tell me but I wanna be a little educated on it.

Generally, it will depend on your torso length. Just a rough guess here, but I would say that if you are over 5'10" you will probably need the 26", otherwise 24". There are other aspects that come into play if you have any non-standard fit preferences or if you have certain types of build. You would be best to just give Aron a call and discuss your build and fit preferences. For example: I have a very long torso and like my pack to ride low; however do to a football injury I have a wussy collar bone so a 26" actually still fits me rather than Shrek who is actually a little shorter than me but prefers more lift has a custom 28" frame.

I'm 5'11" and used a 24 inch frame last year, hauling about 85lbs. When I first put on the load it fit great with plenty of lift. But a short way into the hike it was sagging a little and I lost some of the that shoulder lift (this is why they say adjust the pack with 30-50 lbs in it). I am debating whether to go in with the 26 inch frame this year. Most reviews show people favor the 26 inch frame, but it really depends on weight being hauled.

Thanks for the help. I'm planning to put my EXO bag on this so I'm gonna take this info and the DIY thread info from SHTF and call Aron. What's the best way to reach him?

Again thanks!

I think he is at Sheep Show right now but he has responded to emails at 7 am on a Sunday when I asked him a question. I was in the woods and shot my buck a couple hours later. He might be good luck too. :D

I'm 5'10" and prefer the 26" frame. I really think the 26" frame is the better way to go, unless you really don't like the pack sticking above your shoulders, or you have an incredibly short torso. Becca is like 5'2" and uses a 26" frame.
