Xlr magnesium magazine question.

Is anyone running a savage ultralight long action In a xlr magnesium chasis. I have an old ai mag that fits the old carbon chasis and it falls right out of the new magnesium.

You likely need a stiffer magazine release spring. I had the same problem and XLR sent me a stiffer spring that solved the problem. Give them a call.

Is your mag falling out under recoil? That's what mine did and it was a 5 minute fix with the right spring.

No man it just falls completely out there is a good gap between mag and mag well if I push it up against the magazine lock.

Oh I know they will take care of it. Just curious is something has changed with mag length or something in recent years.

You likely have a 3.715 magazine whereas Element 4.0 chassis will have a 3.850 magwel. Feel free to call to verify, or measure the magazine. AICS magazines are offered in many lengths, for long actions you have 3.715, 3.755, and 3.850. Hope this helps and again give us a call any time!

Update. Called xlr and got everything straightened out. Yes there has been a change in magazine length. Kinda what I figured. Like always excellent customer service and great guys. Top Notch products.
