Xlr element with Black collar folding stock

I wonder if the weight advertised is accurate on here

If so, that would make it worth it compared to the smokes furniture
Advertised weight is accurate. I have the sas tactical folder on my xlr MG 4.0. I installed a 3d print bag rider, all up the butt stock is 23.5oz. Folder locks up rock solid.

I installed a taller butt pad that gives a lil more height to bore. I've shot a prs match with it, was a 13# 6gt. I didnt feel handicapped in the slightest. I gained weight over the smoke buttstock, folder, adj cheek and bag rider by a few oz, but it's way more solid and no flex.

I personally was very dissatisfied with the carbon stock. It's on the womans 22lr now, needed a lighter stock to get proper balance anyways.

Able to post any pics? Do you have the version the has the chassis buffer tube adapter or the Picatinny adapter?

Buffer tube version. It's a pacameyer 500d pad that I drilled holes for proper bolt spacing. 3d printed picatinny bag rider from ebay. Lil adhesive backed foam atop the cheek piece.

That’s awesome. I think I’d go this route since I really wouldn’t be saving much weight doing the CF Buttstock. However…I would shooting a 6.5 CM for NRL Hunter then a 300wsm for elk hunting. Think the recoil pad could be added/modified? I’m handy with CAD and have access to a 3d printer so I could make my own stuff.

You could def 3d print some sort a small spacer between the pad and butt stock for more height if desired. This worked for me. Higher would be optimal but this is what I had to work with.

These are a really good stock option, albeit not the lightest. They're very functional, especially with an added bag rider. Allows very good bag purchase and some real estate in a situation where tripod rear is used.

I liked this more than my mdt crbn, likely to the flat forend and much lower bore height for stability on a bag.

Alright I’m convinced. This will be my next project

And if you want something that gives you more adjustment, let me know and I can work something up for you.

And last question (maybe) what is the LOP as it sits right now?

Fully collapsed its a touch over 12.5" which is where I like it for positional shooting. Prone stages I'll bring it out a few clicks. Bringing the butt pad up higher for more overbore effect would be my interest in a spacer system.

That’s perfect since I’m looking for about 12.5-12.75”

I’ll shoot you a PM and I can see what I can come up with if you’re interested

I define think you could depending on your optic and barreled action. The total weight of the chassis would be around 2-2.5lb which is pretty dang light

There isn’t one. Samson makes a version that directly goes to a buffer tube. Link in a previous comment 👆

Sold on this option, thank you. Do you think it is possible to make NRL Hunter light division (#12 lbs max) with this setup?
Idk, it's not that light, but very solid and zee flex. Chassis, buttstock, grip, xlr thumb rest, bag rider and gray ops thumb shelf for left side of chassis weighs 2# 14oz. Between thumb shelf, bag rider, new butt pad(2oz heavier than original), and grip, it's an additional 10oz. So a emement 4.0 with straight Samson SAS stock, no grip no extras, should land around 2# 4oz.

There are some lighter functional grips out there VS the ergo, like the 3d print ones from MKM, or carbon mdt vertical($$$), saves a few ounces.

Did you say you tried the XLR buffer tube before upgrading to this butt stock? Was curious about the recoil experience between the two.

I used the xlr/smoke composites buttstock, with the bag rider and cheek piece for a lil while. It's just seemed flexy and the bag rider was very small, wasn't a fan, also not a fan of squishy limbsaver pads.

The only thing that I see this setup advantageous for a field setup is the folder. For pure shooting ergos, a stock can be had that's lighter. Competition, the low bore height, integral full length arca, also gives some benefits.

My application would be comp only.

I think that’s pretty good for an NRL Hunter chassis. A Leupold mk5, barreled action with a #4, and a bipod should get you pretty close to the weight limit. Even better if a cf barrel

Defiance classic lightweight, 22in ace Sp3 in 65cm, abel theorem S w/ recoilX comp brake, ckyepod with r3d carbon legs, 4-24 razor gen3.
12# 4oz.

Did swap out to a lil lighter grip and oem recoil pad for this photo, saved 4oz.

Chunky glass at 32.5oz, def lighter options out there. Could cut 4oz on the optics easily and get the extra barrel length needed. I'd run a 24in for NRL no matter what.
