Xlr element with Black collar folding stock

How is the recoil using the picatinny stock? Is there any noticeable difference?
I haven’t shot it a ton but don’t notice a difference.

The recoil pad on the XLR is a tad more squishy than the Samson so it’s softer a bit, but that’s only difference I can feel.

Just found this thread while researching the XLR chassis. What is the goal you guys are trying to accomplish with the aftermarket stocks? More compact folding, stability, etc?

Also what application, competition, hunting, etc?

Cheaper. Better folding mechanism. Finger adjustable for a 2-3oz weight penalty. Comes off and on simpler too if that is a desire.

Just another option.

I ordered a Black Collar a week ago and haven't heard a peep from them. Will call them later this week if still nothing. Which the UD option has my attention - looks like butt pad may be vertically adjustable?

Gooot it. I had not planned on buying the chassis until the summer. So what were the final components you guys landed on as the most solid for a folding option?

I asked UD and the butt pad is vertically fixed. I'll stick to my Black Collar order, assume they do eventually ship stuff? The XLR I want to use for it is 3-5 weeks out anyway.

Ok so saves $100 bucks. What is the recoil difference like? Does anyone like/use the XLR weight system in their tubing?

I got the Black Collar precision stock in today.

Folder locks up super tight. Like solid solid.

The 1/2” LOP spacer gets it to 13” LOP on my XLR.

The LOP spacers install between the folder and stock, not the butt pad and stock which is nice.

I’m waiting on a new XLR for my 22GT build to install this one on, but I installed the spacer so that the stock folds to the bolt side, we’ll see if that works.

The butt pad is hard plastic, zero cushion. Fine for my use, for big boomers maybe not.

I don’t think I’ll use the cheek riser. Without the cheek riser, but with the 1/2” LOP spacer and the folder mine is only 9.2 oz. Need to weight the pic adapter but it can’t be much.

Can post a pic of the rifle with the stock?

Hmm I dunno. The end of the stock is only say 1/2” wide, and the butt pad tapers outward on each side to make a wider contact surface on the pad to your shoulder.
