There are a couple of companies that make an adapter. Just google AR to picatinny adapter and a few will show up. Here’s one example.

I snagged the adapter and ordered a Sampson SAS folder (based on reviews).

It should come in at ~18 oz or very close to XLR CF folder. The black collar was about $100 more to save 5oz and lose a bit of adjustability. I’ll report back when I get it setup.

Alright. Got it put together and some good learning points and measurements for you all.

Weight of my XLR carbon with folder is 17.2oz

Weight of the SAS folder with adapter is 20oz.

LOP adjusts from 12.75-14.5”.

This locks up well IMO. As good as XLR. It folds tighter than XLR. Measured sitting on a bench the width of XLR was .5-.75” wider than the SAS setup. The SAS stays in folded position as good if not better than XLR.

The mil buffer adapter I bought will not work. It is made for an AR and although I ordered the “non flange” version I was sent the wrong one. Which worked out ok because neither would work. As you can see it hangs down into the grip. They make a compact variant that should be fine and I’ll exchange for.

You will want the stock on the highest setting allowed on the pic rail. The highest setting on cheek riser was what felt best.

Hope that helps. I like the adjustability for the 3oz penalty. There are at least two other options that should be less than XLR out there.

Primary reason I went with your exact setup is the lack of bag area on the black collar (and the price). I'm moving away from chassis and will be selling the setup if any other readers are curious to try. It's very good for what it is.

@Tahoe1305 have you had the chance to shoot this much yet? I'm curious if you are still happy with the Samson stock. I just got the Samson stock in and am waiting on my XLR chassis to be able to use it. My concern is the Samson seems to have quite a bit of play on the butt pad when the LOP adjustment is extended at all. At its shortest length it is solid, but anything longer and it is fairly wobbly. I'm probably overthinking it as this will be going on a light recoiling rifle so that may not matter, but still would like a solid setup overall.

I haven’t shot it much. Agree all extended there is a bit of play. I only need mine out a click so it’s not as bad.

I’ll mess with it some more and see.

Maybe email Sampson they may have a fix or it may be out of spec a bit. I’ll check in just a few.

Just checked. At first setting hardly any slop at all. All the way out just a smidge more. Nothing in either that would give me pause. The lockup on the folder is snug…that would be more concerning.

Thanks for checking. Mine is the same, the shortest setting is rock solid and it gets looser the further out it is. I'll Probably email them soon to see what is normal, I'm likely overthinking it since it's not on a rifle now. Overall I really like it, I'll be interested to see if I even notice it when shooting.
