Has anyone else experienced play in the XLR folder? I am going back and forth with them now on a recently received chassis with folder. Upon receipt the folder had vertical and rotational play in it. I went through the "tuning" process they describe in the instructions and was not able to get rid of the play. When I reached out to XLR I was told that there should be zero play in the folder when it is extended in shooting position and to tighten and grease the shoulder bolt. So I popped the shoulder bolt, saw it was already greased and tightened it up and there is still play. When I went back to XLR with that they had me send the chassis back in. The "fixed" chassis just came back the play is still there. I had asked them what they did to fix the issue and they said grease the shoulder bolt and tighten it, which wasn't really what I was expecting as it seems like a manufacturing tolerance issue to me. I just got off the phone with XLR and they are saying now that rotational play is expected and ok for this folder.

Anyone experience this with their folders? I am at a point with it where it seems like I either live with it or return. This is my first chassis and I am used to a stock being completely solid.

My xlr folders had play too. Placed a layer of electrical tape on the buttstock face surface on the folder, basically making a "soft" shim when it latched. May require 2 layers. But it helps with solid lockup and takes out some the play.

Fyi, the folder isn't even an in-house XLR product, it's manufactured by Indian Creek Designs. Their carbon buttstock is made by Smoke Composites as well.

I no longer use the XLR folders, or carbon buttstock, there was too much flex in the system for me. Took the weight penalty and went to the Samson folding buttstock.
