XLR Chassis users

I love the way my Chassis looks and shoots, but hate carrying it. It is the Element 4.0 Mg, so it has the Arca rail built into the fore end. I was thinking about adding some type of padding or something on the fore end to make it more comfortable to hand carry. I do not carry it often, as it is usually folded in my pack, but in the case of slow walking cuts, I want to be ready for a quick shot. Just looking to see if any of you have come up with something that works.

Have you considered a kifsru gun bearer or similar system? You couldn’t carry it folded that way but I have used it on a few hunts now with a non chassis rifle and I love it. Very quick to get to your gun this way as well.

I’ve done a few things.

There’s rubber grip inserts you can obtain the use the mlock pattern. They don’t help much with arca discomfort. https://www.ergogrips.net/shop/m-lok-wedgelok-slot-cover-grip-4-pack/

I’ve taken some trim strips of adhesive foam they use for boat decks as cooler tops and used it on the area in front of the mag well. It kinda helps? Arca still sucks to carry.
