I purchased a x caliber barrel last Xmas. Took it to one of the best gun smiths in my state. I ordered it as a blank and had it chambered in 22creed on a 700 action. I struggled from the first load and bullet to get anything under 2" since then I've tried 6different bullets and 5 different powders. Sent it back to X Calber they sent it back saying nothing wrong with the barrel it's the chamber. I took it to a different gunsmith and had it rechambered. Took it home and tried everything again. The barrels sucks it won't shoot. I've tried 2 different primers and two different scopes. I'm done. Know this when u buy a barrel from them they will not stand behind it what they told me was that since it was a blank there was nothing they could do after their smith said the barrel was good to go 👎. My smith slugged the bore and it measured out at .225 and one the lands was deeper than the others and he figured there's something wrong with their button.

Sorry to hear you got a lemon. I bought a 25-06 barrel over Christmas from Xcaliber and it is an absolute tack driver. Berger recommended loading four different seating depths and said one would shoot better. They were all under an inch and the best one was around half an inch.

Bought a prefit from them for my tikka in 6cm… it’s shooting factory hornady well under an inch, first 3, 107 primes, next 4 are 108 eld-m’s…

I bought a 6.5 PRC and a 280AI for a couple tikka builds from them and both are super accurate. Sorry about youe experience with them but I have nothing but good to say about the two barrels I bought from X-Caliber.

Was that info shared with Xcaliber? Would think that's pretty hard to argue? Unless they say that's within spec?

I used their blanks a little when they were available and nobody else had any. They were decent, all but one. I ran a patch down it before putting it in the lathe. You could see with the naked eye one of the lands shredded the patch all the way down. With the scope you could see it had a nasty rough edge. They did replace it after a three month wait. I have not used any since, not sure if I would or would not at this point. I chambered 31 Bartleins in 2024, never a problem, the answer is actually clear.

When I originally placed my order for my barrel from them I couldn’t find a single bad review on their barrels. I know that even the best barrel maker there is will eventually put out a bad one. But it’s how you handle it. If that were my business I’d have replaced it immediately no questions asked and that new barrel would have been expedited. This post would have been about how great that company was and how they took care of me after a sale and they would have had a lifetime customer. That piece of mind is huge nowadays.

I have a carbon fiber Xcaliber in 7 PRC on a Remington 700 action and shoots Hornady Precision hunter 175s in 3/8” groups at 100 yards. Couldn’t be happier with the setup. Sucks to hear you’re having trouble.
