The weather at this time, is there a need for a stove?

Personally I would take it. I've been in 5" of snow on Sept. 5th years ago. Plus, it sure is nice to be able to dry clothes off if it rains.

You bought it to use man. Take it. I saw some pretty chilly weather in late August - Combine that with getting wet and its nice to dry out.

I say don't bring it or at least make it a game day decision. The days are too long and nights are too short in early Sept to dink around with it. Also the chances of a multiple days long storm are pretty rare. I'd pack it along and if the forecast called for storms rolling in one after another I'd pack it along but otherwise I'd leave it at the trailhead.

It's Wyoming, so it may be 90°, it may be 9°.
I guarantee it'll be cold at night though.

Last year I used mine over Labor Day. We saw a foot of snow the next weekend. I was hunting in that unit.

We were hunting in mid October last year and never fired up the stove, but it was snowing two weeks before. I say make it a game day decision based on the weather forecast.
