I have a question about the odds of parties... Last year I organized a party of 3. I had two separate friends put in to the same unit, same hunt. The party drew, but the friends did not.

WY F&G says that all individuals in a party are given the same random number and party applications do not increase your odds.

Is that number placed into the draw only once?

Wouldn't that actually decrease your drawing odds vs. everyone putting in individually?

Yes, your party has one random number and entered in the draw with that one number, one time. If the number is plucked, you all get tags.

As to question 2...not necessarily. The chances of 1 of the 3 drawing may go up because you have 3 random numbers when applying as individuals. The chances of all 3 drawing on separate applications is much worse than applying as a party.

No free lunch...including party applications.
