Not much left to choose from but my buddy just said he wants to try and go for Antelope in WY the week before our CO Elk 2nd Rifle season since we will be driving from PA anyway. Definitely doesn't have to be a wall hanger, just something to learn from and bring home some extra meat.

Has anyone one here had luck in either 23, 24, or 17? Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Planning on buying the ON X map here soon so that will help a ton I'm sure.

Also, if you know any landowners that allow access for a trespass fee that you've had good experience with and wouldn't mind passing their contact info please send me a pm.

I lived in Gillette for many years. Those 3 units are all mostly private land. The Chamber of Commerce in Gillette used to keep a list of landowners who would allow hunting, mostly with a trespass fee. Not sure how Colo. 2nd rifle coincides with the season in Wyo., but it will be hard to get access if it's the first week of the Wyo. season. Give the Chamber a call.

You can hunt the big chunk of BLM in the NW corner of 23 that includes the Johnson County walk-in #7 and Campbell #7. Access is listed in the walk-in info on the Dept page linked above.

I hunted 16 late in the season a couple years ago, and it wasn't crowded, especially during the week. Given the limited public land, I'm sure it gets pretty crowded when season first opens, so you'd probably be better off if you can work it out going later. I was able to find enough places to hunt that I thought it was worth my while. I looked at 23 pretty hard too, and thought it was similar.
