Wyoming general tag

Hey guys, I’m going to draw a region h deer tag this year and also have the points to draw a general elk tag I’m going during the rifle season and am more geared towards a high country mule deer but thought it might not be a bad idea to have an elk tag in my pocket as well. I’m a back pack hunter and plan on spending a week or better packed in if the weather alows me I plan on hunting either units 151 152 or 156 as of right now but have a lot more research to do my question is are there decent elk numbers around the higher country where I’ll be concentrating my time hunting deer in those units or do the elk and deer keep their distance from each other? Is it worth burning my points on the elk tag? The elk units that would be around my deer units are 81 85 86 87 or would I be better off just making it a deer hunt/ elk scouting trip and save my points? Also I’m a non resident so wilderness is out unless a wyo res is lookin for a huntin buddy feel free to shoot me a pm I’ve got some good info about otc Colorado elk and deer if anyone wants to swap some info.
