Wyo Elk / Fishing Licenses

For those that drew a full price elk tag in Wyo, it also comes with a fishing license.
I asked when we would be receiving them
This is the reply

“Good morning, they are working on them now to be mailed this week. If you would like to use your fishing privileges before you get them you can stop at any license selling agent in the state and purchase a Duplicate license for 7$. This will void your original that will come in the mail and the Duplicate will become your license for this fall. If you have any questions feel free to reach out. Have a great day.”

You paid for it, you can use it, you just can’t have it unless you give us more money.

I had the same situation in Colorado a couple years ago. Whoever I talked to on the phone told me to go ahead and fish - and just not worry about it.

You should be able to log into your portal account and print it. I see mine and it has a print option.

I read somewhere that if you have your hunting license, you can show it as proof that you also possess a fishing license.


As with everything that probably depends on exactly who asks you for it and what kind of mood they are in.

It’s printed right on your Elk License.
You must carry the Elk/Fishing license with you when fishing.

It is valid all year up to when your elk licensed season is over
