So, it has been a few years since I've applied for and drawn any tags. Life got in the way and now I don't take a single minute for granted. But I missed it and got to rebound a little this year with an added bonus. Relocating near my daughter is not only giving me the chance to see her regularly, but get to know her future fiancée and introduce him to hunting, something he did not get growing up.
I drew a good tag, but numbers are still well down from the winter of 22. Animals were scarce and the buck to doe ratio was really low. Over a couple of days it was nice to put some miles on the truck and boots, some time behind the glass and get to know this young man better. My daughter is blessed to have someone so awesome in her life and it was a lot of fun sharing in his first antelope experience. Not quite as easy as he imagined in in the wide open prairie. Tagging out just icing on the cake.
