You’ll need to tap it for a Sumtoy base but a Stevens 301 compact is cheap and all you need. Add a FF3 on the Sumtoy base, choke and TSS load of your choice and you are far deadlier than even the biggest and baddest 12 ga loads from 30 years ago

Shot mine this morning with an Indian Creek 555 and Rogue 9s and it’s amazing. Killed two with it last season - it’s a joy to carry too

Got a mossberg 500 super bantam, put a rail, red dot and collapsible stock on it, it’s like 5 lbs and compact, should hammer with tss loads id look at something like that

This - I have a Steven’s that patterns like mad with 9 shot apex tss and a sumtoy choke. It’s just my back up gun to my Franchi at the moment but I’ll probably carry it a bit this year because it is so light.

The new Remington 870 Compacts come drilled and tapped. They have a 21” barrel. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better turkey gun.
