Have your normal tikka 243 with a swfa 6x. I dont dial when I'm hunting. But like to during the offseason. Scope has been maxed out more than a few times lol

Shot paper today and wtf..I'm about 4 mils low and 3 to the right. Everything on the gun is tight. Measured on the reticle and everything dialed back in to where they needed to be. Scope is another revolution higher than normal though....

Just makes me wonder....

Would you hunt with it?

I would need to know a few things; How long have you had it, has it had issues before, have you dropped it?

I had a scope where I had a strange range trip one time, made me uncomfortable so I took it off and gave it to my dad. He stuck it on a 17 HMR and it's been fine for several years now. Never can tell with those things.

Maybe do a couple more range trips and then if it doesn't happen again, hunt with it.

I don't hunt with any scope or rifle I am not 100% sure is working correctly. I learned my lesson a while back. If there is something broke it will not fix itself in the gun safe or closet. My rifle ,scope and ammo are the single most important components I have to depend on to harvest an animal.

My first inclination is that the set screws for the turret weren’t tight enough and slipped. Scopes don’t have a massive zero loss (failure) and then magically fix themselves. If it were a scope pro some causing a 4 mil shift, it would show quickly in shooting.
