Would you buy this scope?

I see the math and the application of the shoot long and short, but without quite a bit of practice I doubt I would pull it off in a real situation.
This is very easy to do with a regular mil scope if the reticle is well done. You could easily do it with very little practice. Figure out what is 100 yards and divide by 10. A lot of cartridges 1 mil=100 yards. Those are easy. Flat cartridges are more like 0.7 or 0.8 mil= 100 yards, so a better way is to figure out x yards=1 mil and visualize the fraction while you shoot. The THLR reticle does this very well visually. If you shoot enough it is very easy. Being fast is about making shooting simple, yet precise enough to hit the target. It does not require you to be exact unless the target is very small or very far away.

Per this, the preorders start Monday.

Interesting....

@Unknown Munitions @Ryan Avery can you guys confirm this?

I’m guessing it will be a different Monday. If they just discussed it in a podcast, and that podcast hasn’t even been released, it would seem strange to open the pre-order before a public announcement.

I agree - the post that references this supposed pre-order was from a member that spoke with them at the Hunt Expo this weekend, not a podcast.

I thought it was odd, but a few people have mentioned things regarding the rokstok lite (like grind to fit recoil pads) that UM was saying at the Expo that aren't clearly stated on UMs webpage.

In any event, I'd like to hear it straight from the source.

Couple different guys say they’ve spoken to UM & were supposedly told scope preorders start Monday.

maybe something is in the works to get it setup & ready to launch. 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully we’ll hear soon.🤞

Well this is awkward…now I’m second guessing myself. I keep waiting for someone else to jump in and confirm that’s what they were told also. Scope was getting a lot interest in the booth, there’s no way I’m the only one who asked when preorders will start…

There was a deleted post that agreed with you…email notifications live forever I guess

That was my deleted post. I re-read my texts and second guessed myself. I asked for clarification but never got a response lol

Sorry if I missed this in a previous post but was the mounting space ever mentioned?

Considering im looking at either a Tenmile or a NX8, im now interested in this. Due to the cost. But wont be able to view the scope for a few weeks until UM has one in their store. So no way I am willing to do a pre-order yet, lol.

I stopped by Unkown Munitions booth on Friday and was told 9 AM PST, tomorrow morning for preorder. I was kind of surprised the guy was that specific.
Could have swore he said 8. But i know it was tomorrow. I didn’t get to see the scope, Ryan had left and took it with him this afternoon. And i didn’t find zero tech by the time show was over.

Might have said both! The time could have changed in those couple days and maybe it won't happen tomorrow at all. It seems pretty fluid.

I did really like handing the scope. I feel the usefulness of the reticle on minimum power is really nice. This is an area that I was really torn on when I finally swapped to FFP scopes years back. I have mostly used Bushnell lrhs with the donut and it has been serviceable on min power, but this feels easily better in that department.

One area I wish was better on the lrhs is eyebox at higher mag ranges. Without the scope mounted in a dummy stock it was hard to state with certainty, but free handing for a while, it seemed like it may be an improvement in that department as well. I felt the magnification dial with throw lever was low profile, but nice to use with smoother adjustments on that and the parallax dial vs the lrhs.

I think I will buy one in the pre-order, after having the opportunity to handle it in person.
