Would you buy this scope?

I hate to add waffle to this thread but surely you guys can make a non skippable video showing how to search a thread that people have to watch at sign up to rokslide (make it retroactive even) then mute anyone being the lowest form of human (those that dont put any value in their own time so waste others by requiring spoon feeding).

The off topic is annoying when it gets out of hand but so is every page having someone asking someone else to answer a question they could easily spend 5 minutes looking for themselves if they actually cared.
I will happily write a general description of some basic searching strategies if you guys are busy although im sure you guys know more about what the forums capable of than I do.

I can make a video if its helpful, but its not too complicated once you know where to look.

Click the regular search button, then click the button that says "Everywhere", and you'll get a dropdown where you can select "This Thread". That sorts down the search results to just the thread you're currently viewing!

Just want to re-emphasize how much I appreciate you guys taking on this project and bringing it to market. I can say honestly, that every piece of advice and/or gear developed or recommended by this group has led to me improving as a hunter/shooter.

Will the scope be at Hunt Expo be attached to a Rokstok or Rokstok Lite? I could see that helping people decide on ring height in addition to getting hands on experience seeing the scope/reticle in person.
Yes. Scopes are in the building right now. The whole shop got hands on with them this afternoon and it's looking pretty sweet. They are planned to go down with the team to hunt expo, along with Rokstok lites!

I know how it works what I mean is make it compulsory on here for people to have watched a video before they can post and mute them if they ask for stuff they should have searched for first. If it was my forum I would just ban everyone asking for stuff that didn't search first anyway as chances are they will never be a positively contributing member of the forum.

Ah that's right, those are the preferred option around here. They aren't watertight though are they? I have to plan for rain so I need watertight caps.

The best caps I ever used were some cheapo Monstrum ones like this:

Thick rubber boot that could be taped to the scope bell and a pretty tight sealing cap. Were watertight for as long as I used them. Could get a pair of these as well for sure, just curious if the Tenebraex threaded feature was weighed against other options.
The rubber split on every one of the Monstrum I have used. I used to use them on my binos. Ended up spending more money on the MKMachine version. More $$, but they will replace anyting they make if it breaks.

so this is probably a naive suggestion but if you guys are starting from scratch would these two things be worth addressing in the reticle?

1. What is the purpose of the box around the dot in the center? I think the box looks cool but does it have a purpose here?

2. The wind markings for light/medium/string are genius but should they be marked in such a way that it is completely obvious everytime you look through the scope exactly where those markings are and for want wind speeds? IE its on the reticle so you never need an explanation or to reference a marked picture when you forget what hashes mean what.

- Unsolicited input from someone who has never designed a scope but has designed user interfaces. Curious on the thoughts...

You actually think Form and Ryan just accidentally included something in their reticle that wasn’t useful ?😆
no, was actually just curious what modifications (if any) they are making to the reticle. I've seen THLR thrown around and it seemed rather jam packed with features. Looking at the consolidated thread it does say "simplified thlr" reticle... purely curious how they are going to modify it

It has already been done. Scope is being tested. Look in this thread in the last 2 weeks and you will see.

There are pictures of it between pages 150-170

There is a very valid reason that everything is the way it is. It all serves a purpose. S2H made some changes, but again, all for a purpose. Nothing is there “just because” or because it looks cool.

Jake coming in here with the UM account and stabilizing the thread with lucid talk and transparency.

One thing is for sure—- the scope is an amazing value at $999 if the glass is the grade stated.
I looked through one of them in the shop today. That reticle is way nicer than the pics make it look. It all makes sense real quick when you're actually looking through it. And, as expected, they looked like Form has been dragging them behind his truck

ZT also has a margin as well, they aren’t doing this for free. The $400-$600 per unit was their cost. Post the invoice from LOW. LOW isn’t charging $850 per unit and I believe that you are buying the units wholesale from ZT at $850/unit. Myy point was finished on the next post. If you charged a 50% deposit up front you and ZT could likely cover the cost and get more people these scopes. Which is the ultimate goal. I don’t know what your quantity discounts are and I am basing my assumptions on my experience with manufacturing and importing. I also speak fluent Japanese and have extensive experience with their business models and manufacturing. You can think I am a dick, but I am really good at this stuff. , while I personally don’t see enough value to swap one of my NFs out for one of these yet, several Roksliders do.

Here is what you should do: @Ryan Avery @ZeroTech Optics @Unknown Munitions

Negotiate with ZT that S2h will cover their initial order cost with a preorder asking for 50% down from Roksliders with the remaining $350 due net 30 of your invoice date (super common with wholesale agreements). When the remaining $500 is charged to the Roksliders after the scopes arrive and you are ready to ship, you should be able to cover the $350/per unit, plus take your 15% margin.

Thats takes any risk of a larger order out of the equation for ZT and gives you the cash to get more scopes in everybody’s hands.
Dude, just stfu. No one cares what the f#@# you think. It's none of your, or our, damn business what they pay for them.

Attached a crude mockup. The ZT scopes already have orange on them, and from what I'm seeing, S2H has earned the right to put as big a logo on it as they want and that's fine with me.

Also, it's easier to sharpie over orange than white if that's the play.

Still looks better than those gaudy stickers that Nightforce puts on their scopes. Haven't heard much complaining about their branding....
