Ah that's right, those are the preferred option around here. They aren't watertight though are they? I have to plan for rain so I need watertight caps.

Several weeks in SE Alaska and they didn’t leak.

The best caps I ever used were some cheapo Monstrum ones like this:

Thick rubber boot that could be taped to the scope bell and a pretty tight sealing cap. Were watertight for as long as I used them. Could get a pair of these as well for sure, just curious if the Tenebraex threaded feature was weighed against other options.

Those are like the Vortex Defenders. The Vortex did not work out well.

No sir. Dial elevation, hold wind. IF you need rapid elevation change, then use reticle. For instance, I used the new scopes on three deer, at three different distances- dialed to the center, knew the closest if the deer ran towards me was almost exactly a mil short, and the farther one was almost exactly a mil long- the spots were about 100 yards apart. Shot the center one, then held 1 mil high in the farther, then they ran towards me and held .8 mil low. Three deer, in about 11 seconds. Exactly what the reticle was made for.
Also have used it for follow up shots- animal is hit, runs closer or father away- hold in the reticle.

That’s good to know. I stand sit mostly for deer so dialing has never been an issue. I trained for 500 yard shot for my elk, yet he walked right out at 150 yards.

Definitely will know my holds for follow up shots.

Aadmount will make a scope cap to what ever size you want.

Nothing stopping anyone from ordering a set to fit after a min or two with some dial calipers.

I have had them before, and been pleased other then the weight.

One trend I've noticed in my time on Rokslide, is that the people who stack up over 1k posts per year should be avoided. Especially if they are still in their first year with over 1k posts. These people are typically the types spending all their time online rather than in the field to gain experience you would want to learn from. They are also typically argumentative types who talk more than they listen (post more than they read). YMMV but it is a very consistent trend.

well put sir. This has directly influenced the amount of time I spend on this site now. Unfortunately I don't know how it can be brought back to its former glory, unless moderators go scorched earth on the useless and childish banter.

There are several variations of what Form described.

But in general, if you shoot your laser a few times, you'll find a landmark/cutoff line for AIM LONG and sometimes also AIM SHORT.

It is perhaps one of the most/more valuable tools in the reticle.

Once you start shooting, you can just eyeball how far/close they are tonthe landmarks and hold a corresponding "eyeball measure" towards AIM LONG/SHORT.

Very good for the chaos where the target will stand for a few seconds only before it rejoins the herd. You can really snatch the opportunities presented and get well into the second magazine.

But you need to be disciplined, observe impact, hear the smack to asses the shot or track it until you're certain. Count the deer, have an idea of area and respect the cutoff line however deep you are in the red mist.


Plenty of time to regret the success; you do not need to add "tracking" to the list...

That is not correct. The overall design of the scope is exactly the point. They chose to build the exact scope they wanted, not to chase market share.

But market share was not the concern at the start of this project. This project was initiated by Form and Ryan wanting to create the best riflescope for western style hunting and field shooting. They have mentioned multiple times in forum posts and on podcasts that Form wouldn't allow any corners to be cut on the development of this scope. Producing the scope in MOA significantly reduces it's effectiveness for western hunting at distance.

Everything written here. We were in a couple of states in the last week or so, quite a few deer were killed- in culling, NOT hunting. The videos are good and instructive for killing, but I don’t think people would be able to understand it quite frankly.

This is exactly what we do when culling, make a mental range card before the action begins, often there are two of us and we each cover a sector

I am well aware they built THEIR scope. I will own a few. I like how it turned out. But part of the derailment has been MIL/MOA related.

The burrito conversation was funny. The manufacturer representative even indulged and furthered it.
