Would you buy this scope?

Im sure you could find a scope bumper that would fit.

Ryan was saying on Cliff G's podcast that S2H is going to or already does carry and sell the scope bumper caps so I'd be stunned if we won't at least have an option to buy those for this scope. I'm always at risk of being totally wrong though.

Ah that's right, those are the preferred option around here. They aren't watertight though are they? I have to plan for rain so I need watertight caps.

The best caps I ever used were some cheapo Monstrum ones like this:

Thick rubber boot that could be taped to the scope bell and a pretty tight sealing cap. Were watertight for as long as I used them. Could get a pair of these as well for sure, just curious if the Tenebraex threaded feature was weighed against other options.

Looking at reticle on new scope. Looks like you ger about 1.5 mils to use for holdovers, gets you to about 350yards for average cartridge.

So would you do reticle holders to 350, then dial anything further?

No sir. Dial elevation, hold wind. IF you need rapid elevation change, then use reticle. For instance, I used the new scopes on three deer, at three different distances- dialed to the center, knew the closest if the deer ran towards me was almost exactly a mil short, and the farther one was almost exactly a mil long- the spots were about 100 yards apart. Shot the center one, then held 1 mil high in the farther, then they ran towards me and held .8 mil low. Three deer, in about 11 seconds. Exactly what the reticle was made for.
Also have used it for follow up shots- animal is hit, runs closer or father away- hold in the reticle.

But I thought of another real question. Why Tenebraex caps? They work OK on my Trij, not the most watertight and sometimes they flip open on my pack, and I think I've heard you say in the past you don't like them. Is there another option that uses that same thread pattern? Or could you recommend some that slip over the tube?

Because there really isn’t a great option. Tenebrex are pretty standard, they work and it lets people use them if desired. For me, it’s scope Bumpers.

Several weeks in SE Alaska and they didn’t leak.

Those are like the Vortex Defenders. The Vortex did not work out well.

That’s good to know. I stand sit mostly for deer so dialing has never been an issue. I trained for 500 yard shot for my elk, yet he walked right out at 150 yards.

Definitely will know my holds for follow up shots.

Aadmount will make a scope cap to what ever size you want.

Nothing stopping anyone from ordering a set to fit after a min or two with some dial calipers.

I have had them before, and been pleased other then the weight.

Almost every single legitimate thread is destroyed by jackasses here now. This used to be a forum where people that actually cared about gear, technical conversations, and information came to learn and share. Now it’s filed with immature children whose sole claim to life is memes, and stupid Facebook conversations.
So I probably shouldn't follow through on having chat make me a picture of a collab between ZT and a hotdog truck if I want to be able to buy this scope?

Your life - and I mean even, or especially - the parts of it that are more important than shooting - will go smoother if you learn to dial it back and be able to laugh every now and then. Someone out there in the world is going to disagree with you or think something is funny when you don't - or heaven forbid not drop everything based on your experiences - and you'd do well to learn to live with it.

That's free life advice. take it or not.
You just don't get it, do you? There are 2 threads on a scope that has never before been offered. Over 4000 posts on these two threads, the vast majority having nothing to do with this scope. Some of it is your endless bullshit about moa scopes- which this scope is clearly not. The people interested in this scope should not have to constantly wade through facebook-esq bullshit. If you crave the drama go there.

Kindest regards,

The other thread isn't official, never was, never will be, and it was a ridiculous, absurd error for the mrad mafia to start the drama about moa simply because one potential buyer mentioned that he'd prefer moa.

It's just as bad of an idea for *you* to drag that, into this thread. So, please don't.

One trend I've noticed in my time on Rokslide, is that the people who stack up over 1k posts per year should be avoided. Especially if they are still in their first year with over 1k posts. These people are typically the types spending all their time online rather than in the field to gain experience you would want to learn from. They are also typically argumentative types who talk more than they listen (post more than they read). YMMV but it is a very consistent trend.

Well FN said!!

I'm with Form. Time to cut the crap out of this thread. Lord, I skipped out on this thread on page 165 for a few days and it's page 180. If I wouldn't have skimmed through the BS, I would have missed Zero Tech. You can definitely tell people are bored and too much time on their hands. Sorry to be growling.

I wouldn’t still be following this thread if I wasn’t worried about missing the pre-order/deposit link. I gave up on the other one because it’s not “official” and I don’t need to be checking that many Rokslide posts per day. I took Facebook off my phone for the same reason. I know it’s my lack of self control, but it’s still annoying.
