I missed my opportunity to get behind one but of all the controversy over everything shooting related I have NEVER heard anyone that has handled one have anything negative to say and they ALL are looking for one. There is something to that. When they were being made there weren't really any mil shooters.
I stayed mad at Tikka for decades when they dropped the 595/695 in favor of a single action length. I'm over it now but I still keep my eye out for a 595. I'd love to have a 'whitetail' model for a treestand deer gun. I never had a MS model but a man I knew and sometimes shot with, did. I did have a 658 deluxe model, though, and that was about the prettiest wood-stocked hunting rifle ever made. Wish I'd kept it.
