Would you buy this scope?

Because this is Rokslide and we aren't normal, it will be a 7x52 fixed power. 🤪

Jay
I’m far from normal. I was talking about fixed X being a great option back when the Leupold 2.5-8x was the gold standard here, and people thought you had to be poor or super old to prefer a fixed power. We sure have changed gears on our leupold opinions here.

I actually am really hoping that a fixed 6 or 7, maybe even 8, is the phase two of this project. Maybe just a tad smaller OBJ. Like a 6 or 7 x42 or a 8x46-50ish.

I agree.
8x42 binoculars are so dang useful. They just work in so many different situations.
I can only imagine how well that magnification would lend itself to a rifle scope

I’m not meaning to be a smart ass in asking, but has an ETA been put out? I haven’t read all 56 pages, and I think I’m current on the podcast and don’t recall hearing a date (estimate).

So I recently read all of forms drop tests and scope reviews and went down the rabbit hole researching hunting scopes. My main hunting rifles had leupold vx6, ZEISS v4 and Talley lightweight mounts. Never had a problem with optics or mounts but hearing about failures had me doubting my set up. So I bought 2 4-16 atacr’s, a trijicon Tenmile 3-18, and a nx8 2.5-20 to put on my main hunting rifles. Mounted with Burris xtr steel bases or pic rail with nightforce and mt tech rings. Bedded and glued bases to rifles. Optics are heavier than I wanted but I couldn’t any similar quality optics in the 20oz range and I have confidence in my set up now. Was trying to save weight with my previous set up. Now my rifles are about a pound heavier but on the plus side my wallet is so light I’ll fly up the mountain this fall.

Now I came across this thread describing a new scope that checks all the boxes… this forum has cost me a lot of money

Good news is you have presumably equally valued scopes to sell and enable replacement! 🍻

The scope is not being designed by committee. It is what Ryan and I want it to be with some limitations based on time and cost.
Just as with the stocks, the suppressors, the rings, the bolt knobs, the bags, etc, etc- no offense to anyone, but random desires aren’t changing anything.

Every company tries to be everything to everyone, and end up sucking for all.
That is refreshing to hear after getting caught up on this thread. Keep the committee out of it, you know how dumb and wishy washy we are
