Would you buy this scope?

All of which can be done with equipment already on the market, right?

So why are we even discussing what you can do with gear already on the market?
To me the closest is the Maven. But I don’t need the 6x erector, don’t care to support the company much, and like the advertised reticle of this more.

Respectfully, I can't tell how much of these quotes are sincere, as opposed to it being d*ck measuring responses to my stated optics preferences.
This wasn’t the intent. Was trying to be respectful in my response and sharing my experience from the last couple years after being on the other end of the spectrum previously.

I’ll say this based on my experience this week. I have a 3-15x50 scope and set it at 4X when I’m hunting. Shot a bull elk at 417 yards and cranked the zoom up to get a good sight picture before I pulled the trigger. Looked at my scope settings after the excitement ended and I was at 8X.

Now if it were an antelope, I’d probably have cranked up more magnification for a finer point of aim.

Looking forward to seeing this scope come out.

The less magnification range = less movement in the parts and less weight.

I'd rather have a bomber, sub 20oz 3-9 with exposed elevation and a good useable reticle. I don't know what the fascination is with these massive zoom ranges trying to solve every problem. I just want a scope to solve 1 problem perfectly instead of 3 problems marginally.
For what it's worth - and I know it's only just one reference point for the conversation that followed your post (and you expressed your own preferences) - 3-14 is still within the 5x ratio that Jeff Huber said is the upper limit of what he thinks is mechanically and optically optimal.

Oh yea, no disagreement there. My RS1.2s are fantastic all around scopes. But at 26.6oz, it’s a little heavy. If Maven upgraded their Rs.2, that would be a killer ultralight scope. Probably comes in sub 15oz.

All:

It’s a serious question from Ryan. This is not just a feeler post. No presale or other nonsense.

If a 3-12x40’ish mil/mil scope was offered that was consistently reliable and durable, was tested heavily, had multiple reticles that were truly usable/visible from 3-12x, a good/great eyebox and DOF, low profile zero stop elevation and capped windage; and was under $1,500- would you buy it?
Definitely

the plethora of SWFA 6x hunters who never find themselves wanting more X's.
I took my 6x42 MQ Gen2 out to 1,000 yards last week (with the help of a spotter). I'm 100% confident shooting it out to 600, but spotting my own impacts past about 300 gets dicey, especially in low light.

It's mostly the reticle that gets me excited me about this new scope. Capped windage that doesn't protrude so far will also be nice.

Ok, so I may at some point come back and read this whole thread but I just cant right now.

Is there a ballpark price? Renderings? And date of launch?

They released them in February. Unfortunately, they were priced at $2,900 and couldn’t pass the drop test. The whole project had to be canned. LOW almost filed bankruptcy. Whole big thing. We had a funeral for a bird.

Oh man now I am extremely lost and will have to read the thread.

Hahaha I’m jk dude. It’s a semi-quote from The Office.

No clue when it’ll come out. We’re all still waiting.
Now that you say that, I remember the quote from the office about the funeral for a bird.

Specs are 3-14, right around $1500 IIRC, Form shared some renderings of low-profile turrets, and the simplified THLR reticle. Can't tell you where it's all posted at in this thread, but it's in here somewhere.
