Would you buy this scope?

It’s been stated repeatedly there’s a 6 month window between order and production. I’m guessing LOW isn’t going to carry the $500k for 6 months. S2H/ZT are almost certainly going to have to pay in full at time of order. This is a guess, I’m not an insider.

Customarily there’s a deposit, then pay in full before LOW ships, but after final on-site QC.

So huge sums are due early in the sales cycle but not crazy early like upon order.

B2B sales almost never pay in full at time of order. Although they may only have 30 day terms.

Why would a company put a cap on preorders rather than sell as many as they can by the order deadline?

Why would you not just tag the two companies involved that are active in this thread and ask lol

I'll be keeping mine as well. I like variety.

Different scope reticles have different uses. I have rifles of all size and flavor. One single reticle can't be best for all situations.

Somewhere Jake/Ryan said payment to LOW is due at time of shipping.

Our payment is due at the same time.

So it doesn’t make sense to cap the pre-order except that they didn’t say the deposits were non-refundable/non-cancellable.

If they ordered 1000 scopes and people back out, that would be devastating for them.

My understanding is that there should be another pre-sale next month, and the month after, etc., for another 500 scopes. I may be imagining that or it may be what I suggested they should do...

As for why put a cap on pre-orders, even with a $100 down, there are going to be some people who decide they just cannot afford another $899 charge when the time comes to pay for the complete scope. Additionally, we have already seen how easy it is to overwhelm Unknown shipping departments (e.g., I'm still waiting on a Black Friday suppressor to ship). Spreading them out at 500 per month may well make it easier to predict flow rate and hire the right number of people for the job. Anything with a six-month lead time is going to require some artificial way to regulate supply until they get to the point where they can afford to keep sufficient inventory in stock to handle "normal" demand.
