Been receiving emails like crazy from these cats. Mainly about interning there sweepstakes. Anyone have any experience with them?

I believe this is the new name for the Cabela's Hunting Adventures. I booked an elk hunt in Montana with them last year and the contact person was Eric. He was quick to respond to all questions and satisfied all my questions. Hunt was successful, killed a elk second day. Would book with him again.

I won a Red Stag hunt through their drawing box in a Sportsman’s Warehouse in 2012. I went to their office at the time met them. They seemed like a good group(not bias because I got a free hunt). Last time I checked the management had changed so I don’t know what it would be like now.

I’ve used them for several years to put in for draws. Also booked 2 Alaska hunts with them. Never had a problem and I continue to use them.

I’ve never used their service, but met one of their directors while hunting and have kept in contact for a few years.

They haven’t had a hunt on their books that completely meshes with my interests in a hunt, but they haven’t tried to sell me on something just to book a hunt and have been extremely helpful and open from what I’ve seen.

They have a very high rate of return customers, which speaks volumes in my mind.

I booked a South African plains game hunt and an Albert black bear hunt with them. Both outfitters were very professional and competent. I would not hesitate to book another hunt with them

I did one hunt with them. The agent that I had was not very ambitious. After I paid for the hunt I had to pry information out of him. Not a ton of follow up. The hunt itself was great.

I know this is an old thread.
I booked a hunt through world trophy outfitters.
I am making this post at the airport. Waiting currently a bit over a 1 1/2 hours past our agreed upon pick up time. Not a good start.
And the agents at WTA leading up to this have not been very helpful after they got paid.
I think I will be going back to booking directly and hunting shows from now on.

I booked a hunt thru them with my brother and another of his friends for CO this year.

They have been helpful so far. Will update once i actually partake of the hunt.

My understanding of most outfitted hunts is the broker makes the deal and once its all set up they turn it over to the outfitter.

Blaming airport pick up delays onj anyone but the outfitter is kind of like blaming ATC when the flight is out of coke. Just my opinion…and it aint worth much.

Oh I agree , And we will have to see how the rest of the hunt goes.
The broker in this case WTA is my mind should be the one responsible for only representing quality outfitters.
And this guy I am going with may be great and I might be singing a different tune in a few weeks.
But making a client wait what turned out almost 2 hours past pick up is not a good start.

Let us know how it goes and if you get picked up.
And also about the 62flint…I have one of those laying around.

I’ve used them twice. Last fall I bought a guided elk hunt advertised as a rifle hunt for specific dates in September, dark of the moon prime rut dates. Small print said dates may change. I found out this summer that the rifle dates were now 10 days later in October during the full moon or I could keep my dates and hunt with a muzzleloader.

Last spring I used their tag service to apply in NM so I could take advantage of the guide draw. I discussed my desire to only apply for the very best quality hunts and only for rifle. They put me in for everything including Barbary sheep. For those I and the consultant selected the three best ram hunts and put in for them. They refused to let me review the application because they were “too busy”. They ended up putting in for the very best ram unit/hunt as choice #1, a ewe hunt as choice #2 and the third best ram unit as choice #3. I got a ewe tag. I discussed their need to let me review my application before they send it in to avoid f*ck ups like this and they again told me they were too busy to do that.

I only have these two experiences with WTA but they all occurred in the last year.

Nice. , I have been shooting flintlocks for a few decades now. Really like my 62 smoothbore and my rifle. Does a good job on a critter.

Well here’s how my Pronghorn hunt went.
As you will see in some ways and by some folks perception I have nothing to complain about others will agree with me

Leading up to the hunt. Communication from WTA and the outfitter I felt was slow and spotty.
I had spoke to the outfitter 2 weeks prior to the hunt if he could pick me up at 12-1 from the air port. To the day before could he pick me up at 1200 from the airport and he confirmed.
At 1225 I got a text message he was running late and it would be 125 before he got there. While that was irritating but things happen. At 145 I was still sitting on the bench waiting. I called and he apologized and 5 minutes or less later he was pulling up.
On the 1 hour ride to the lodge he wasn’t very talkative, but hey I get it not every one is a great conversationalist. I know I am not either.
Lodge was decent. Nothing over the top but clean and functional.
I was handed off to another fellow and we went out and checked zero and then got dinner.
Next morning the lead guide was late again to the meetup spot and we started glassing for animals.
After 4 hours or so we stalked with in range and I shot a borderline Boone and Crockett class animal. ( waiting for official scoring )
After pictures and some talk we went to the local dinner and had lunch. During which very little interaction from him. He actually pretty much just sat there ate and played on his phone.
After which he disappeared again and me the other fellow I was with went and processed the animal.
My general impression is the guide felt like he did his job putting me on a great animal and he felt his job was over. I guess it was. Almost like he knows his his job and can do it well but really doesn’t enjoy it much.
Will I use WTA again ,,, maybe ,,, with caution.
Probably will book direct. Will I use this outfitter again , maybe. Not opposed to it. I did get good results. But ,,,,?
