I'm in need to update my workout clothes; add a few pair of shorts and t-shirts. What brand(s) do you like? (I have a lot of Hylete shorts and MtnOps shirts that I like...looking to diversify; no Nike)
Thanks.

Starting this off with a curveball for you... 99% of workout gear is plastic. Wearing plastic is bad for you- so bad, they've found it to actually sterilize dogs temporarily during studies.

I've been wearing merino stuff by a brand called Ryker for the last year or so. Little spendier initially, but not as expensive as being unhealthy.

I definitely appreciate this - I'm also in the market to update my plastic Blender Bottle because of the micro plastic fragments. Thanks.

I like Zero Foxtrot for shorts; shirts I generally just wear whatever old random logo shirt is laying around

I like the ten thousand interval shorts. For shirts, whatever one I’m wearing and just toss it in the washing machine as soon as I’m done. I use a badana as a headband too, it helps control sweat and is easy to clean.

I sweat profusely and so far the Origin RTX shirt line has been the best for maintaining my sweat and not making me look like I feel in a pool after a workout.

Of note - even when I'm doing a zone 2 run in 10 degrees - I still work up a hell of a sweat so even when I'm not exerting myself too hard I still end up a giant puddle haha.

For pants/shorts so far it's been GoRuck/Born Primitive.

Not workout specific, but I wear FreeFly Breeze and Reverb shorts as well as Duck Camp Trail Runner shorts. The same shorts I wear for warm weather fly fishing, kayaking and hiking.

For shirts I wear bamboo ones from FreeFly and Duck Camp as well as Sitka Redline tees.

You are likely eating and drinking way more microplastics than you can imagine and don't even realize it.....not wearing specific clothes or ditching your shaker bottle isnt going to matter a bit. Further, that isnt what is going to kill you or even make you sick. Remember when milk and eggs were bad for you? I wear Adidas running pants and long sleeve shirts that wick the sweat from the skin.

GoRUCK shorts have been awesome. I like a shirt with a liner and they have been great.

Synthetic shirts for cardio and cotton t-shirts for the gym.

I’m a profuse sweater as well, I actually think it was my main limiter back in my endurance racing days, I just couldn’t keep up with the fluid loss during Ironman triathlons and ultra marathons so my performance was always greatly reduced in the later hours of the races. I tried everything, so many electrolytes that there would be crusty salt from my sweat all over all my stuff.

I tried everything, weighing myself before and after workouts to see if I could figure out how many lbs of fluid I’d lose on a 90 - 100 degree 100 mile bike ride or a long run, I used to sit in saunas to to try to adapt to the heat, I even used to do indoor bike trainer workouts in my moms house in Phoenix…..in the summers to try to adapt to heat and fluid loss.

I never really figured anything out, and spent the last years of my racing just dealing with it. Like you, I’ll completely soak shirts and shorts.

As for clothing committed that, I gave up and just work out in cotton shirts, whichever one I’m wearing that day, sometimes I’ll just grab a clean-ish one out of the bin and sweat it up since it’s getting washed anyways. Luckily I just workout at home these days so it dosent matter, just peel off the shirt and throw it in the washing machine.

The best things I’ve found that help me now is a bed bandana, the cotton ones. I wear it has a headband and just wash it when it gets gross, that and liquid chalk to keep my hands dry.

I've been using a Brumate blender bottle and enjoying it. It has a built-in shaker thing so you don't have to worry about it. I had the Blender Bottle Stainless one and really loved it until I had torn apart for a deep deep clean and the lid lock was a mold fest!

I wear chubbies that have the compression shorts built into them… I absolutely love them…I wear UA cutoff hoodies… I love them too

So I'm doing this 6 month transformation program with Spartan Races and the other day they issued us a ladder challenge. Starting at 1 rep and ending at 10 reps. Pushups, Squats, Situps, Burpees.

My baby was sleeping and my wardrobe is in the same room. So I did this in a T-Shirt and Jeans. I somehow magically didn't chafe but my cotton shirt STUCK to me by the 7th round. When I workout at home I'm just rocking underwear at this point as the sweat is just ridiculous and I'd rather mop the floor than deal with odor until laundry day.

That being said - I'd recommend you try out the Origin RTX shirt than as well. I was in a triathlon club 2 years ago and after a group run involving sprint intervals the shirt held up SO WELL and it managed the sweat ridiculously well along with the smallest puddle on the shirt out of all my other ones.
