Looking into getting some new work out gear. My old shirts are starting to get a mildew smell to them. Usually just wear old cotton t shirts.

Do you have a go-to work out shirt or just use old t shirts?

Outdoor Research Echo series is my go to for outdoor runs/training hikes and the Patagonia capilene cool is my favorite for my gym focused days. Definitely more expensive than the old cottons but less smelly, faster drying and helps a lot to prevent rashes I used to get from longer training sessions in good ol wet cotton lol.

Frank my man,

my middle name was cotton.

But the performance T-shirt materials do breathe better/cooler and the stank isn't there like cotton, (unless you don't get them dry in the dryer)

We get them at work so I don't know what the Brand of the material is (guaranteed just a generic), but it's the polyester/spandex blends.

stay looking newer longer than cotton too.

In the gym I like a mostly cotton shirt because squats are usually on the menu and the synthetic shirts don't grip the bar in the low bar position like cotton with a dash of chalk on it. Training hikes, a synthetic can be nice for staying drier.

I usually stick to a cheap Under Armor shirt or some old Nike Dri-fit stuff. If you look around at places like goodwill or Tjmaxx there are cheap performance shirts. Be aware you may be stuck with a shirt from a sports team or some goofy colors.

I am all too familiar with the odor cotton workout shirts can get. Washing them with a cup of vinegar in the machine and line-drying them in the sun is pretty effective at killing the smell.

Frank, you're in Lakewood. Hit the Sierra Trading Post at Belleview and Wadsworth. You'll find plenty of synthetic shirts to try.
