I went with a Kobalt table saw and miter saw for home use. I have had them for about 5-6 years now and they have been good for what I use them for. They do not get a ton of use though, I do some wood work as time allows, but generally just used for random household projects. I’m sure there is better out there, but they do just fine for me. Lowe’s generally has decent sales on them between thanksgiving and Christmas.

Suprised I have not seen the Bosch Miter Saw on here. The "Knuckle" one. I have had it for years and though heavy, it is a great.

I have a powermatic 'contractor saw' (I think it is a 64) that is good for me. Wired for 220 but there are a still few times I wish I had more table saw. I do not feel that way with the miter saw at all.

I was a carpenter in college and we used Dewalt miter saws and on the job we used a portable small Makita table saw. The millwork shop had big table saws, but we didn't. We did the finish carpentry on this house with those two saws. Your biggest obsticals will be your imagination and your checkbook for materials.

To a point, I think the blades and the stand used for cutting are probably more important than the brand of saws. Expensive tools balanced on an upside-down garbage can, or set on the floor will be tough to produce good work.

I currently have a ryobi 7 1/4 sliding miter that was given to me just wanting something a bit bigger and bit more precise.

You are correct about using a high quality saw blade. When I was running my woodworking shop I used a 2000$ porter cable saw. But the saw blade costs near 500 bucks. And have it professionally resharpended. Good blades worth the bucks

Didn't recognize it via a model no.!
I have the 10" and love it as well. If I had a 12" table saw I would have got the 12" bosch. Maybe later.
